Tokyo Dome 1990 on Spotify?!

This live Nude Tour concert is on Spotify UK.

Any idea how come it's up there? Surely it's unofficial?

Just a radio broadcast semi-legal European thing I think.
Europe doesn't seem to have strict rules regarding these releases on Spotify. Some time ago Small Club was also on there untill it got removed.

Well i'm giving it a listen in any case as the Nude tour was the first time I saw him live.

London though not Tokyo!

Very near the front (somehow) and near a massive speaker stack as I remember, with the bass reverberating through my ribcage!

I worked "security" for the dutch Nude Tour shows, was my first job when I was 16 year old.
A friend of my parents got me teh job because he knew I didn't get tickets and was bummed I couldn't go.
Security just meant standing in front of the audience for half an hour and then get to go back stage to make sure nobody accessd it without permission.

Never mind audio, I'm still not sure why I've never seen a great quality version of this, still, to this day. It was broadcast on Japanese TV at the time. I had it on VHS in bad quality, TV ads included.

It is unofficial, but it's also legal in the UK.

As long as has been publicly broadcast, it is permitted.

You can even buy these things on CD and vinyl in HMV. It's not just limited to broadcasts though; the Small Club concert is something I've seen in there as well.

I think T. released the definative video version years ago, complete with te intro of Prince walking backstage and entering the elevator.

Pretty sure the release from Love Or Money surpassed all previous versions.

Formerly TheDigitalGardener etc.

Small Club was also on there last year but was removed eventually, even Come Home was on the official Prince Spotify account with some rapper shown as the performer, how that happened nobody knows, but I think it's still on there but nit under the Prince account anymore but still tagged with sone rappers name on it.

When P was alive his legal team would shut this kind of stuff down. The only place you would find these live boots was at record fairs and the odd indie wrecka stow. Now they're in chains like HMV and streaming and the Estate seems to just let it go. Not saying that's right or wrong - pick your battles, I say - but stuff is more accessible now.

All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

That's so far from the truth. This stuff happened when Prince was alive all the time.
