Moments where you feel like you’re listening to a song the first time again

Just had a moment with “Free Urself” where i felt like almost exactly like i was when I first heard it. I hadn’t listened to it in a long minute and when I decided to play it, it definitely hit like it did when it was the Purple Pick of The Week in 2015. Man times were simpler… now I gotta pay rent and make money to do that lol

But yeah i’m curious to hear similar experiences. There’s times where we have songs that we overplay over the years but there’s always a time, or many times, where you feel it the way you initially did back when it first came out

I had that recently with ''Shockadelica'', and ''It''.

(''It'' is suchan underrated song tbh.)

For most songs I pick my moments for listening. To be able to indeed enjoy that feeling of (first) excitement again.

I my head I often hear a Prince song on repeat. But then when I listen to it, that pure (first) feeling can be relived again - but not always.

I really ave to be totally relaxed and chill.

In a car on the radio for istance, it never happenes.

For me, I notice i gotta either be listening with my headphones on, or it comes up unexpectedly
Oh and sometimes when I’m in the car. Nowadays, I usually use Bluetooth but I use to burn CDs (something all of my friends never ever done lol) so sometimes I’ll pop a disc in the car… and I’m unorganized so most of the time I don’t know what i’m about to hear

Most of the bootlegs/leaks I’ve collected over the years are in those cds in my car. I think a lot of those files were on my old computer so I don’t have em anymore

Yes occasionaly, normally when I may of not played the song for a long, long time but used to know it very well, years ago. Something like I'm Yours, or Vicki Waiting. They sound so fresh again.

Vicki Waiting. It's a slice of perfect guitar pop. Easy to love first time you hear it. Easy to keep loving.

Thirty-six years and a thousand plays later, Kiss always manages to sound like it was recorded yesterday.

Agree on that one.

Same goes for me when I hear Dorothy Parker.

It was just like that for me yesterday with Lady Cab Driver.
