If they were to combine any albums in one release there is 0% chance of any tracks being dropped.

Hybrid, in word alone, suggests a meshing of two to make a new one. That is not what's been suggested or would ever happen, as clearly debunked by any real Prince fan with a brain.

What Funkenberry said was, in theory, it would be understandable if we don't get a SDE of by itself that would then be included with the Diamonds and Pearls SDE. Meaning, it'd be tacked onto the D&P release. A joint release (again like the 2-in-1 cassettes back in the day).

Because there were other mixes (some by Keith KC Cohen) of stuff like "Daddy Pop" or "Walk Don't Walk" (which is sorta new jack-adjacent anyway; that's another thread). There was a bit of cross pollination between the two records, so if you're including earlier versions or unreleased remixes, etc,. it would stand to reason that both albums together are more of an era-friendly release; they are so closely related in general.

So, will the album be handcuffed to Diamonds and Pearls SDE? The only way we'll truly know is when it comes out.

OP also said, "mentioned by at least 2 high profile posters on twitter." I found one twitter user who sideways entertained the (bad) idea. The OP has yet to link any one of these alleged tweets on here. And I've already provided at least one.

If they release both albums at the same time in a larger deluxe package, showing the cross pollination, that'd be fine. Two birds, one stone. But to suggest they're going to pare down everything into one new record? Fucking ridiculous, and frankly trolling at its worst.
