Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I will say the sound is better. Different. It's not so clangy and tinny, there is bass to it. It's interesting to hear the echo on his voice different, too. That stuck out. I mean, you can only do so much with it, but if Bernie Grundman had tracks available to him - and why wouldn't he - then it sorta shows. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Just woke up to THIS! Yea nice to have the show remastered but that’s it! Whoever posted this news thing really needs a !

Sorry don't dig it. What's the point for this (didn't listen to yet though) knowing that we had already the remastedred version by Bernie Grundman? By the way, I much prefer the previous artwork: this one is awful! "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

Remastering is the music industry's emperors new clothes. Someone remasters some songs and we rave about it even though it's not much different and it could be the same person mastered previous versions that we are now saying are no good.
I should get into this remastering business. [Edited 3/30/22 0:51am] [Edited 3/30/22 0:51am]

Even P&M 1983 was more exciting than this. I'm very disappointed. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

works for me too. right now. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

There was really no news at all. Looks like the drought continues. Something BIG Is Coming.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
is this now going to count as a major release and an excuse for them to say 'we only have room for 1 big release each year' and so release nothing else this year?

Yes I hear parts I never heard before too. It almost sounds like it was also remixed. I think this LGC is also an edit. I seem to remember it having the same arrangement as the 12' remix.

RockItPoole, a Prince shop here in the UK, has just posted some limited pre-orders on their site. Limited to 100 copies currently, but gives a release date of June 3rd this year. Here's a link for you: https://www.princeshop.on...ution-live eye dont think U heard me . . .

Thanks! Fair prices, crazy shipping costs...

I have the one that showed up on Apple Music last year. That one sounds pretty good to me (well an updgrade from my old boot). I don’t see myself picking this one up. Don’t need the CD or vinyl. Now if they released Parade live I’d be excited! [Edited 3/30/22 6:35am]

Thanks! Fair prices, crazy shipping costs... You're welcome!! Crazy shipping costs are understandable if you're outside the UK. Hopefully other places and the official Prince store will have official announcements and orders soon, but as RockItPoole have copies up, I would say other places will sooner rather than later. Or that's what I hope at least eye dont think U heard me . . .

OK, i hear that bit at 5:34 which tells me the release is worth a little of my time...at least, purchase of a digital download. It makes me wonder why this showed up for purchase a year ago on hdtracks.com...i bought it and it sucked.

Yup, it's available now for 27 euros on Amazon.de (the 2cd/1blu-ray package).

Will say one thing, the amount of first rate material they have released is so tremendous that I think they can fairly go w/o anything this year. Of course, i don't want that...as we are all just getting older and a future box set of obscure material will be have interest for a few more years...maybe 10-15. A Jill Jones or Madhouse remaster is probably top of many wishlists right now but that interest keeps dropping, every year.
The truth is, I was getting very into the 1999 Super Deluxe when the SOTT Super Deluxe came out. I always felt i needed to return to some vault tracks off of the former as I'd been stuck on some like International Lover, How Come U Don't, Rearrange and Purple Music. Then SOTT came out and I was totally BLOWN AWAY and stopped exploring the 1999 SDE.
As for SOTT SDE, I think there is so much there that I could spend more time exploring and totally absorbing it all. I know I have barely listeneed to the live album....which could use more bottom end ...

The only hope is that, since this a Sony legacy release, we may still get a Warners release

Have you SEEN the amount of absolute tat they're cross selling with it? I despair sometimes.

from Prince.com: "For the first time, this powerful performance has been entirely enhanced and reconstructed: the original video source was rescanned, restored and color-corrected; and the original multitrack audio master reels have been remixed and remastered onto Blu-ray video with selectable stereo, 5.1 surround and Dolby Atmos sound. Prince’s late-career and Grammy-nominated recording engineer, Chris James, remixed the recently discovered source audio, which had remained archived in Prince’s legendary Paisley Park vault for over three decades." I'll wait for the Amazon listing in the UK, then order. They have the vinyl up already. At least it's something, but still itching for new music. [Edited 3/30/22 7:06am] The orger formerly known as https://prince.org/profil...nglishGent
