No, I don't (actively) hate it, in the sense that it would make me want to "kill people", to quote eyewishuheaven. That's completely excessive and I don't really understand that kind of reactions, even if it's a figure of speech, obviously. Prince's music doesn't do that to me. Not anymore, at least. I'm not saying I enjoy all of Prince's music the same way, though. I know that I don't need/want to listen to "Purple And Gold" or the "Gangster Glam" remixes, for example. But they are exceptions. Pretty much all songs mentioned in this thread (yes, even "Lemon Crush", "Graffiti Bridge", or "Jughead") are songs that I will listen to again at some point.

So you're the person who likes Jughead... Well, it's certainly unusual to find someone who likes pretty much all of Prince's output. I think you may be the only one. There's nothing wrong with that, of course. Like I said earlier in this thread, Prince's fanbase are incredibly diverse. And I'd gladly take a fan who likes everything over a "fan" who hates everything. The org has quite a few of those.

So, just to set the record straight, I don't like everything Prince recorded. It just that some of his songs don't move me one way or the other. I don't hate them, though. And, yes, I enjoy "Jughead" from time to time and I know that I'm far from the only one. Disclaimer: as a non-native English speaker, I usually don't listen to lyrics, so with Prince that helps a lot.

I wish I couldn't understand the lyrics on that album.

The trombone solo in "The Flow" is pretty cool. [Edited 4/19/22 13:53pm]

Ooooh, then we must hate each other from now on. lol - (Beetje mierenneuken : ) - I do like My Name Is Prince and And God Created Woman. Both an 7,5 out of 10 to me. The Morning Papers Is also OK. Never liked Sexy MF and '7', nor 3 Chains O' Gold. Though I listen to that album from time to time. To be honest, it is a coherent album. it has a pretty good flow. But it's certainly not my preferable album. Neither does Diamonds & Pearls. Still I always feel that the first three songs in a row could've been album openers on their own. Their follow up is a bit weird to me. I prefer Love 2 The 9's as an opener, and would've left My Name Is Prince off the album. Could've been a one off single, why not. And Sexy MF works fine between The Continental & Damn U to me. - Rock to the F & L double U, just like you're suppose to do? Really ? lol

Prince started losing me a little with Diamonds & Pearls. I liked half of it...not so much the other half...we all know why.
Symbol, not-very good songs, the absence of Rosie, the stupid-cheesy-creepy "story" with Kiristie Ally, and sheer volume of it was just an overblown, overstuffed mess. It was the album that turned me off to Prince until Gold Experience.

... from my understanding that was a true "Vault" ( or throw away ) album P put out because he owed WB "one more album". That albums grown on me over the years and I actually like it now. Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

AOA and HitNRun Phase One are both really great albums. And Baltimore is a sweet peaceful track. Nothing bad about it imo

Put them both on repeat back to back. No need for waterboarding. Did somebody say play it backwards? How exactly would I do that? Is there an app perhaps? Or a board game maybe? Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…

I think I have to just go with MPLS sound minus crimson and clover. I consider it bad because I don't want to hear it. Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…
