I always surprised how this works...footage of an 11 year old prince which is all over the internet doesn't get a front page mention, but the celebraton news does |

It's not like the org has the kind of traffic that would mean you'd miss something in the PM&M forum. Since the Celebration post was in Fan Gatherings, I get why that would need the front page boost. |

Here's the unboxing video of all the sets.
When I viewed this last week it made me proud! It's just breathtakingly beautiful inside & out. So detailed. I can't wait to receive the the limited SDE in the mail. At least now they clarified the LPs get a 12 page 12x12 booklet, the CDs get a 24-page booklet (why is it more pages...smaller size???) and the SDE gets a 44 page book.
.
.
If I knew more about what the 44 page book had I might buy it. I wish it had info on Sheila and her set. There is no official documentation of her opening set for PR tour |

There are literally a gazillion apps where you can record audio and reverse it. You can even do that in iMovie on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. You can do it with Audacity or Adobe Audition on your PC.
Take your pick.

No, I'm just saying - there are so many choices, pick what's best. I tend to open iMovie because it's quick and easy on my Macbook. But on my PC, I would probably go to my old and trusted copy of Cool Edit Pro (now known as Adobe Audition).
I never did get into Audacity. CEP was working for me for years, so I figured - why reinvent the wheel?
I still have an older Dell M90 with nothing on it except Windows XP and Cool Edit Pro to record any vinyl I buy. I record it as a WAV, convert to a lossless container (like Apple's codec) and put it in my library. But I haven't opened the poor thing in a good two years probably. I've been buying the CD/LP packups so I've never had to record the vinyl.
Speaking of that, I am way overdue to visit my local record store again, post-Covid.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

You know what stuck out for me?
1) when they're chanting "1999" before "Paaarty," in the old video you could hear Fink's voice that was supposed to be deeper electronic type voice, but the effect wasn't fully working (or dropped out or something), and his regular voice came thru louder. On this, the voice effect is corrected.
2) I never heard Prince say "BOOM" when they when into that extended section.
3) I also never really noticed (as much) the papers being shot into the air or whatever (effects of an explosion?) when they go into that section. The lights, everything was just clearer.
I always felt like Prince's guitar, in my songs, was either too loud or too muffled. It was jarring or un-listenable. In these, it punches in at the right time.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

The sound impovement is vast, bit the video upscale is poor. I've produced better results at home.
Strangely, the remaster clips of LGC and 1999 are vastly different. There is far more noise and over sharpening on 1999. If you watch the drapes they are full of video noise. Yet the same effect is not on the LGC. . |

Yet the same effect is not on the LGC. Agreed. There is SO much noise. On YouTube it looks like a stock filter/effect from consumer grade video editing software. I mean, why bother? The audio is really impressive, however. |

Before I forget because I don't have my VHS copy anymore nevermind that, am I remembering correctly that there used to be a rug on the floor on the side of the stage that said "prince don't walk here" as though at least my impression was it was sort of a looney tunish thing to have but anyway does anyone notice what I described (the rug with writing on it off to the side) I think it was on the right side as you watch the video near the pole.
I know I didn't imagine it. Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…

If you can't find an app to put on your phone to reverse audio - maybe you need a new phone, especially since you don't own a computer. Gheezus, I would imagine you could even do it in Windows Movie Maker.

I'm not. But who has a smart phone that doesn't understand the most simplistic concept of APPS, and that "there's an app for that." Are Android phones that limited? I don't know, I've not been on an Android phone (HTC EVO 4) in about six years I believe. But honestly, if someone just wants to reverse some audio or speed it up - App Store.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

I never said anyone sounds nuts. Maybe they sang the part backwards and maybe some body could at least sound out and write what they think they heard. And that way we can use pencils to figure it out. Remember pencils? Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…
