Yah, U Know and Dope Smokin' Moron

this isn't interesting but i love both songs so i wanted to make this THREAD.
both "yah, u know" by prince and "dope smokin' moron" by the replacements have a brief spoken word section referencing quaaludes. they were also written/recorded in the same town within the same year.

is there any context here or am i reading into it. was there a "lude" thing going on specifically in minneapolis? i'm not a "user" so i "don't know"

Luudes and whippits have always been commonly referred to back in the pre weed legalization era because they were easy to get ahold of. Luudes weren't much of a thing beyond the 80s but they were huge in the 60s and 70s.
