Paisley Park apply for trademarks 'Club Paisley', 'The Immersive Experience' and 'Prince Vault'...with descriptions.

Looks like we might have better idea of how the legacy might be monitized beyond marble swirl vinyl.

Paisley Park Inc trademark applications:

1. 'Club Paisley' - Membership club services providing discounts for purchase of a company's goods and services, early access to purchase tickets and merchandise, early notifications to purchase tickets for entertainment and other museum events, exclusive and early communications and notifications for preferred access to museum grounds and facilities, passes and complimentary or preferred access to events in the fields of music, entertainment and museum services, and other incentives and rewards programs.

2. 'The Immersive Experience' - Entertainment services, namely, providing in-person interactive themed-areas, exhibits, displays and attractions.

What do we think?

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but this sounds promising, or at least like a step in the right direction.

A music download service would be fantastic.

Surely this would speed up the release of music.

I wonder how far off this is.

A subscription service where we can possibly download music??

Only about five years too late.

Anyone with a brain has been requesting this from the start

Wait, isn't "Prince Vault" already taken?

What about "NPG Music Club"?

Or, maybe, "Lotusflow3r.com"?

They could throw in a free t-shirt!

it is crazy to think it took them SIX YEARS to arrive at a digital distribuition model that Prince already tried (and retried and later discarded) in the early 2000s.

It doesn't necessarily mean something is going to happen anytime soon :

Look at the previous pages. NPG Music Club has just been refreshed but it's there since 2018.

Couple of interesting things there that obviously never came to fruition prior to his passing, anyone know anything about "amarna vision", "&y" or "new world records"?

I believe it has likely taken six years because the estate hadn't been settles and the various parties involved probably disagreed on a number of matters. That would be my guess.

Exactly. It's not like a digital distribution model could have been set up even within the one year of his death.

It could have been set up in two, three or four years... My point is not the amount of time it took them to settle around this model, but the model itself!

A premium distribuition model for a single artist seems very reductive in this era of massive digital distribuition on mainstream apps available everywhere. It is also something that Prince already tried multiple times with varying degrees of success, consistency, pricing, etc...

Of course, we don't know the details yet but if it is anything like NPG Music Club or LotusFlow3r, it really feels like a step back, not forward.

I haven't checked lately but Bruce Springsteen is the obvious classic example. He's a major artist that you can find on all those other platforms but has also provided the ability for his fans to download live shows. Pearl Jam as well (I think). I don't see why the Estate can't find success with the same idea.

I think the reason why Prince had varying degrees of success is that he changed his mind all the time. Nothing ever lasted too long. And that kind of tech was also new-ish between 2000 - 2004. Now it's all common place.

The Vault idea is what a lot of people hav been screaming for, giving more access.

Club Paisley sounds like wishful thinking. I just don't know how much good will the hardcore fanbase has at this point.

regadring the Vault, I think it was said that there were rights issues at the moment that prevented them from doing a online streaming or online store with unreleased and live material.

I really hope this is true and tehy solved the roights issues so we van finally get a proper online vault store with Live and unreleased material and rehearsals an video footage.
