The Lubricated Lady - Mandela Effect? Can anyone tell me where this verse went ?
I will still be hip
Listen to the song , prince only released one version of this song, and now that verse is missing
Please check the song and if you have a copy where he is still singing that verse, please let me know

The only Mandela effect I know of with Prince is that he was touted as a half-black, half-Italian artist when he was breaking through in the early 80s.

Honestly I really don't blame him looking as he looked. Why go through an entire US history lesson and how genetics work during an interview? Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Perhaps you are looking in the wrong song? That verse is from ‘Get Off’ (the single ‘t’ song, not ‘Gett Off’) and not from the song ‘The Lubricated Lady’. Both are of course on the NPG maxi-single. https://www.discogs.com/r...Generation [Edited 1/7/22 11:50am]

now how is it possible if only one version was created and released?
and how long is your copy of LL ?
https://www.princevault.com/index.php?title=Single:_New_Power_Generation
they all show 2:39 seconds , yours would have to be longer , and i dont remember nor is princevault showing an extended version of this song existing

It was him. I had an interview CD from back in the day where he either said or implied it himself. Or it was the Mandela effect.

You can go ahead and blame him because he lied. He asked Warner Brothers not to make him white. People have been familiar with people of mixed white and black ancestry as long as people have existed. That black people do not all share the same shade of color has also been known for as long as people have existed. It was nothing but marketing and an attempt not to be classified as black for the sake of his career. For that I do not blame him. He got to the point where he could say, do, and be what he wanted by playing the game. No US history or genetics lessons are necessary to just say, "I'm just a light-skinned black man".

Based on the comments I've seen in this place over the years, let alone the world at large, it's enough to know that people don't truly know or consider all that especially from people outside the US, which is where that interview took place. I can understand when Spike Lee says Prince would have approached things differently if he grew up in NYC rather than Minneapolis. There would have been a host of other questions trying to pinpoint the specifics of his heritage to explain how he looks because why did he need to mention his parents race in the first place if it wasn't about how he looks. I've seen similar scenarios play out time and time again. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Tour rehearsals were around this time so I imagine he had the aesthetic in mind. He's also kind of always played around with the twin lady imagery since Jill/Lisa during 1999 tour

Wasn’t there some line in the Graffiti Bridge movie, may be a scene with a drunk Morris Day, in which he says love to the left of me, love to the right, or something similar. It’s about 30 years since I’ve watched the film, so don’t hate me if I’ve mis-remembered. There may or may not be something coming!

something to the left of me, sexyness to the right... it's all about the pimp sandwitch tonight... Morris Day: Sexiness to the left of you!
Jerome Benton: Sexiness to the right!
Morris Day: It's all about the pimp sandwich tonight!! Waah ha ha!

Thanks OnlyNDaUSa, that’s the quote I was thinking of...to a drunken Aura (Ingrid Chavez), before they take her for a ride]. Graffiti Bridge was filmed in Feb and March 1990, so the genesis of the song Loveleft, Loveright is from this time or before, given this line. There may or may not be something coming!

If you listen to "New Power Generation, Pt.2", you can hear the -love2theleftofmelove2theright- in the background vocals. I just wanted to know if anyone had an idea who was the guy (girl?) Prince was referring to with "...once i give her back 2 ya..." . shewon'teverwannadoyaedit- [Edited 1/10/22 11:48am] "Whatever skin we're in
