The Beautiful Experience video

I just got the Beautiful Experience video and I think it's pretty damn great. Was this only aired or released in Europe and Japan like The Sacrifice Of Victor or The Undertaker? Anyone?

I've been hearing about this special forever now and I'm
still not in the loop as to what exactly is on it and how
it is put together.

Anyone care to share the tracklist. And is it made up out
of live performances or are there videos as well. I seem
to recall people saying things about the COME video and
stuff like that, so I would love love love to be able to
see this video some day...
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

don't know the tracklist by heart (and i'm at work) but it largely has the tracks that you find on the "beautifull experience" boot. There is concertfootage mixed with additioal footage (video-like stuff like for "race")
there is also a silly "storyline" with nona gaye login in to the "experience" website and getting to hear all this music while being stuck for a date at home. That's the FF part.
so, for sure there's
interactive
days of wild
now
race
papa??? not sure anymore

I recorded that video from MuchMusic (Canadian MTV). I really enjoyed it too.

Essence

It's okay I guess, the musical performance aside I've found Prince's ideas for segue stories (3 Chains Of Gold, Undertaker etc) cringeworthy 99% of the time.

I also recorded it off Much Music in Toronto.

I have it recorded from Channel 4 here in the UK and also on a copy I purchased from NPGMC a while back.

The NPGMC version was the most dissapointing Prince item I have ever purchased. It had worse picture quality than the version recorded off of the TV, (9-10 years agon now I think) and the sound was barely audiable. They quickly withdrew it from sale after numerous complaints.

Those grumbles aside, it is a show that I thoroughly enjoyed and still do from time to time.
RIP sad

I remember that brouhaha.
I just don't get Prince when he does crap like that! Shouldn't he have the master video tapes to his own show so he can put out a pristine copy? It's like his bootlegging his own material!

You'd think so wouldn't you. That's why I have previously pondered the myth of the vault and how much stuff in there is actually of a quality good enough to release.

This was a great special with great music and images, and another princely scifi silly storyline...

the best performance of Days of Wild I've heard... I wish I could see the rest of the actual concert that this special shows portions of...

"Martial Law" is the bomb...

I ordered it form the npg and another fan, and strange how the fan tape was clear and sharp and the npg tape was blurry and dark.. and yeah I wrote a complaint to them, and they answered back "that was the only source they had available at the time"

I didn't order the video but from what I can remember from people who did get it was that it looked like Prince taped it off the TV (in SLP mode probably!), then made a copy of it, then made copies from that copy to send to everybody! And I think it also came in just a plain white sleeve.

I felt bad for the people who ordered this thinking that it would be just like buying a good quality video from the store (which it should have been). I think it was also priced like a regular video ($25?).

I'm just thankful there's a place like the Org where word can spread about things like this. Otherwise, it would be sitting on my shelf & a lot of other people's shelves too.

You remember correvtly, it did just come in a white sleeve. Can't remember the exact price, but about $20 I think. To be fair though, they did offer me a refund but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of returning it. Given their track record at that time, I expected to send it back and not get my refund due to some problem or another. It sits on my shelf as a reminder of darker days.
