If it’s truly going to be the “gold standard”, then I can gladly wait another year for its release.

Please wake me when it's done... . BTW: thanks for the update! Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I know that there are too many people interested in DOING IT RIGHT rather than doing it quickly.

I expect that series to spend 90% of its runtime rehashing the same old stories that we all know by heart about 1976-1988, then quickly skim through 1989-2016 in its last 10%. And why shouldn't it? Gold or not, that's sadly the standard for any book or documentary about Prince. . I hope I'm wrong, though: maybe someday someone will realize that there's a goldmine of new informations to be unearthed about Prince's post-80's career. If Alan Leeds says it will be the “gold standard,” that must mean it will start in 1983 and end in 1987.

I hope you're wrong too. It's a damn shame all those years are not being looked at and talked about. [Edited 12/11/21 18:36pm] Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

Miles Davis with his raspy voice on Alan's phone ;
''...tell that little purple motherfucker to call me...'' (hear it from 1:49:30) LOL Soooo funny ! Knowing that Alan Leeds met Miles through Prince. - Thank you Bart for this. I love these stories.

😂 So that means for 2024, for the 10th wave of Covid and the 8th shot. That must be very incredible, for a documentary 5 years in the making.

. Or they run out of money or interest before that... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Well I hope in that case it’s going better now than it was before. Business Manager to Cat Glover.

Yeah the NPGMC / WB ending contract years are where you really get to KNOW Prince as a fan and his connection with his audience is unlike any other artist at the time.
My second fav period of Prince's is the 2000-2016 era. The music started becoming a lot more focused and fun Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

This documentary would be mean for everyone, not just die hard fans who know all the stories. It's also likely meant to be a historic document. As such, why would it not have stuff the hardcore fans know about? Should it not have everything? This documentary is certainly meant to expose Prince to NEW people and build a legacy that's a lot bigger than the dimwits here.

Then, if it's to introduce the usual stuff, why wait 5 years to release it? It's easy to combine old footage, old music, new interviews and voice over. This is not Matrix 4. They re not gonna remaster any footage at all. They won't show us private things, rehearsals, etc, cause it's boring to most viewers. They're not gonna show us one great musical moment we didn't know of. So if it's primarily aimed at the wide audience, why are they waiting so long? I m sure part of the truth is that they still can't use TMBGITW😂 and they are kind if stuck in the WB war era.

He made himself accessible to his fans and you could feel the love he had for us. It was like being invited to Graceland except Elvis was still in the building and interacted with all of us. I have too many great memories from those times to mention and at the end of the day just feel extremely grateful to have experienced it with a lot of you guys.

If anyone cares, they're called Schimmel Pegasus pianos. Schimmel can only make two per year, and they only make them to order, for $300,000.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
