List of all prince songs with Clare Fischer's contributions?

Trying to make a list of all the prince songs that Clare Fischer contributed to

So far I know of
The future
Crystal ball
New position

Also wondering if those are indeed his strings that you hear in the opening of "The One" promo video?

Sigh! Anyway

Does anybody remember the mixtape Wax Poetics released shortly after Clare’s passing? I thought that was a great tribute, and the songs they picked from the different artists he collaborated with fit seamlessly with each other. One of these days, I’ll stop being lazy and make a Clare Fischer playlist

Well then, stop being lazy and make that fantastic Clare Fischer playlist. LOL

wink

Serious, I never heard of that Wax Poetics release...

Which one is it ?

I Have many old Clare Fischer records. Love what the guy did.

And certainly adored whatever he contributed to Prince's songs.

A magical addition, always.

A shame Prince used it more than often just as an additional excerpt to embellish his own songs.

He often messed around with these full Clare Fischer recordings he had in his vault on his later songs.

And not always used verything.

I'm sure Clare wrote and recorded loads of unheard orchestra for many Prince songs we've never heard.

Prince never met him/never wanted to meet him apparrently.

The most fantastic collaboration ever.

I even remember Robert Palmer also worked wit Clare Fischer, because of what he heard in Prince's tunes.

I’m forever indebted to whoever curated that playlist, thanks to them I got introduced to Switch’s “We Can Make It Better” (which he worked on). One of the most stunning pieces of music ever recorded imo, only gripe I have with it is it was criminally too short.

OMG. biggrin

I love that little song too, and that whole album in fact.

That litle song somehow always makes me think of ''Venus De Milo''.

Not in the literal musical sense, but in the atmosphere it creates.

Especially the last part.

Oh indeed. Both songs exude similar blissful energy and sonically, both have more or less the same qualities.

In A Word Or 2 (Monie Love) definitely sounds like Fischer too, although I don’t think he was officially credited.

Waaw! That is a fantastic list VaultCurator.

Thank you so much !

-

He obviulsy liked the arrangements for ''Crystal Ball'' a lot!

Since he often went back to use those ;
-
''Lovesexy Live Show Intermission'' (12 June 1988) Incorporates portions of the CFA from Crystal Ball and Cosmic Day
''The Future'' (Mid-late February 1989) Incorporates portions of the CFA from Crystal Ball
''Violet The Organ Grinder'' (10 May 1991) released with CFA (uncredited sample from Crystal Ball)
''sym_prince.gif Album intro'' (Early 1992) Unreleased Intro included Crystal Ball string sample
''Paris 1798430'' - Tevin Campbell (September 1992) released with CFA (uncredited sample from Crystal Ball)
''Days Of Wild (live)'' (9 December 1995) Contains sample from Crystal Ball

-

Same goes for the ''Killing At Tha Soda Shop'' and other for Jill Jones used samples.

-

Isn't the song ''An Honest Man'', the intro to the ''Under The Cherry Moon'' movie, having Clare Fischer al over it?

Definitely a sample of Clare Fisher. I can't identify the original song at the moment, though.

Clare & Prince, as important as Eric & Prince, Sheila & Prince. His strings alone on the Parade album, Jill Jones album and An Honest Man instrumental are legendary.Wow the insane musicianship.
