I'm warming to the Brainblow Chitlins. It actually is a pretty neat album. Weird acid jazz and trippie. Don't like the JW tripe but the music could have been worse. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Wrong forum? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

The music is the highlight for me! Wish there was an instrumental version

This album was a real breath of fresh air after the late 90s. I hadn't loved a Prince album that much since TGE. And I don't pay much attention to lyrics anyway, so that was never an obstacle.

Yeah it's a great album - I even see how Wedding Feast fits in to the flow of the album - I even find myself singing it!!! Also knowing how he moved away from JW to a more spiritual worldview, we can forgive some of the "contoversial" lyrics.

I appreciate Wedding Feast because it's one of those great moments where P is deliberately fucking with his audience. Kinda like F.U.N.K., but with comedy instead of blistering funk. I like when he does things like that. Push my buttons, Prince!

I can't see the point of "hating" The Wedding Feast, it's obviously an interlude (not a proper song, almost a joke) that serves the purposes of the narration... Isn't that clear?
Personally, I find it musically funny, no more no less... [Edited 12/9/21 9:15am]

. Never understood it also. It was meant to be a segue. Different from other songs that I consider bad and dont see many people complaining about

Musically a fantastic album. Lyrically a bit too preachy and weird for me. Hated the Darth Vadar voiceover - almost ruins the album with the that odd esoteric "storyline"
[Edited 12/9/21 11:14am] [Edited 12/9/21 11:14am] 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I really don’t even mind the preachy aspect… it wasn’t really set in stone as to what is was… went from talking about going door to door to build a new nation to talking about the Akashic Records.. that in itself makes the thing interesting enough to listen too… put it on top of prince’s great musicianship and vocals… I can’t see how U walk away thinking… “Ohh… that was shit…”

I can understand people not liking it, but anyone claiming it's shit, really hasn't listened properly. RIP

The only reason people HATE on this and don’t GET IT is the religious component.
It’s EXACTLY the reason I LOVE IT. PRINCE KNEW HE ALWAYS KNEW [Edited 12/12/21 8:04am]

. Whaha, true, but you might get flamed when you say people do not `get` Prince.... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

True. If the lyrics werent religious, it would have been seen as one of his best albums ever by many fans. . I never paid much attention to lyrics, so I think it´s a brilliant album.
