Or they're just teasing some box store's upcoming Exclusive Holographic Vinyl Variant (LIMITED EDITION!) of the regular album

Lol - but let’s be real, an announcement of some sorts would be nice even if release dates are decades away!!

Not a good idea. That happened with the SOTT SDE (or was it W2A?) and everyone went apeshit about the length of time between announcement and the release.

The Controversy cover is also animated.

they have a whole controversy theme tab on the estate site and that seems just to be because of the do me baby demo ... so maybe something dnp is up since they animated controversy and it had a recent release

This is indeed a weird thing. They could have released another 'single' for this album or even
an expanded version with 2 or 3 bonustracks (since we know there were a couple more tracks
on those cdr's they compiled this album off).

The release seemed to have some interest from the general public and did fairly well, I think,
so it's stupid that they did nothing else to promote it or keep it in people's minds a bit longer.

D&P was animated on Apple Music for awhile as well. Legacy must’ve submitted some updates. I wouldn’t get too excited just yet.

Yep, I saw that months ago. Randomly, I think Controversy was animated too.

This is a thing with streaming services and has been for some time now. I think it's up to the artists to provide the animated artwork (though I don't know), but many albums by legacy artists on Apple Music are either animated or have an artist-specific animated video not attache to any particular album. I've noticed Pink Floyd and Sting recently.
