Prince's Christmas Album I always considered that Rainbow Children was what a Jehovah's Christmas album look like. And wasn't it released on Christmas day? A Christmas/ kids friendly album would be a way to make people interest in Prince and will increase his streamingđŸ˜„. No shit My tracklist would be : 1) For You 2) Another Lonely Christmas 3) Do U Lie? 4) Starfish and Coffee 5) Everybody Wants What They Don't Got 6) Diamonds and Pearls 7) She Gave Her Angels 8) Don't Talk 2 Strangers 9) Everywhere 10) Last December What would be yours?

TRC was released to NPGMC members on October 16, 2001, and got a retail release in the US on November 20, 2001. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

White Mansion has a wintry vibe.
And he plays a bit of Jingle Bells in one of the songs on the "U Belong 2 Prince" bootleg.

How about Starfish and Coffee (Muppets version). It's like a children's song, and Christmas is all about Children.

For the 25 th December date, well I always thought it was. But you know the time of downloading it at the time, brought you to the Christmas day.

I've read the whole thing again and that still isn't clear to me. But fair enough if that was your intent, let's move along. RIP

Because of its anthemic nature, I always felt "Gold" was a winter/Christmas-y type song. I think it was released in the winter, too. Maybe that's why. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Yes, gold is definitely the most wintery of them all. That is my pick too. As for a children's album there was one called happy tears be abandoned for sad reasons, right? I don't think we can make a prince Xmas album.. none of these feel like Xmas!

Being an enormous Joni Mitchell fan he likely got the Jingle Bells idea from her song River on the exceedingly excellent Blue album.

I always thought All the Midnights In The World had a Christmasy vibe to it. The melody with the piano. The mention of "Zuzu's petals" from It's a Wonderful Life screams Christmas to me.
