Back in about 2017, I read a comment on a Prince YouTube video from someone who claimed that, since before he was famous, Prince had an annual arrangement with this person to play some kind of football game in the weeks before the Super Bowl; meeting in houses and hotels to do so.

What I'd like to know is: Did I just dream all this? Does anyone recognise what I'm referring to?

I am tempted to dismiss it as fan-fiction; but, you know, it's Prince.

I don't know about that, but it was mentioned in multiple interviews that a backup of the entire Superbowl performance was pre-performed in the event that Prince could not perform in that rainstorm.

I would love to hear that alternate "live" studio recording of the whole Superbowl performance.

But Prince was so unhappy with it, that he was going to perform live whatever the weather conditions.
