Best List Of Still Unreleased SOTT Tracks? Between Graffiti Bridge, Crystal Ball 1998 and SOTT Super Deluxe it's likely the vast majority of material has now been released BUT has anyone compiled a list of what's believed to be left?
What I know of is:
1. Crucial (Sax Version)
2. Data Bank
3. Girl Of My Dreams
4. ??? |

Data Bank and Girl O' My Dreams are the ones I'd really like to have released. Any chance they would be on a Parade Super Deluxe Edition?

I was really surprised the sax version of Crucial wasn't included. |

Crystal Ball with the 'purple underground' part. It's simply a crime that was not on the boxset.

There's a spreadsheet of all the known sessions from 1983-1986, compiled from Duane Tudahl's books and other sources. You could at least have looked through that and compiled a list from that. © Bart Van Hemelen

Hi Homesquid. I've put a list together for you from the best of my knowledge. Personally I consider the Sign era to begin around March 1986 when there was a concentrated number of Dream Factory songs recorded (however, Prince did draw from a number of songs recorded or remixed earlier). However, since the SOTT:SD includes 'Can I Play With You?' and 'Love and Sex' I've included songs from December 85 - January 86 (minus anything relating to The Flesh). In my mind, the recording of 'Wally' marks the end of the Sign recordings (I'm not sure why. It just seems appropriate for me). However, since Prince's next major project 'Graffiti Bridge' didn't really take off until July 1987, I've been generous and included material recorded up until June 1987. Please note: All dates refer to basic tracking dates and do not necessarily reflect when a version was completed, unless noted otherwise. Songs never released in any form She Pony (9 December 1985) A Couple Miles (26 December 1985) - May have been considered for 'The Flesh' album Duet With Dad AKA Sunday Afternoon (9 February 1986) - with John L. Nelson Twosday (11 March 1986) Fun Love (11 March 1986) Get On Up (3 May 1986) - The Esquires cover song Frustration (10 May 1986) Boy U Bad (11 May 1986) - Possibly offered to Taja Sevelle? Baby Doll House (28 September 1986) - Possibly Madhouse related. Rescue Me (5 October 1986) - Fontella Bass cover song Ponyride (26 December 1986) 3 Nigs Watchin’ A Kung Fu Movie (Jan-Feb 1987) - Intended for Sheila E. 2nd Thoughts (April 1987) - Offered to Dale Bozzio. Assumed date. Relevant alternate recordings / versions / edits Dream Factory (full length) (30th November 1985) - 3rd verse never released. Also note: Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A (prelude to Dream Factory) (20 April 1986) Love On A Blue Train (alternate recording) (18th December 1985) - Sheila E. recording. Unknown guide vocal. Can I Play With U? (alternate version) (26th December 1985) Wonderful Day (final mix as intended) (30th January 1986) The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker (with strings) (13 March 1986) (Strings added June 1986) Movie Star (unedited) (14 March 1986) - Very minor edit on released version. And How (original recording) (19 March 1986) - Later re-recorded by Jevetta Steele. Crystal Ball (full length) (17 April 1986) Also note: Crystal Ball (full length basic tracking) (17 April 1986) - Technically a work in progress and not intended for release, but popular amongst fans. Baby Go-Go (original recording) (12 June 1986) - Later re-recorded by Nona Hendryx. Data Bank (17 June 1986) Girl O’ My Dreams (18 June 1986) Can’t Stop This Feeling I Got (17 June 1986) We Can Funk (17 June 1986) Eggplant (final mix as intended) (7 July 1986) I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (full length) (16 July 1986) Also note: I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (12" remix) (16 July 1986) - Assumed to be a genuine 12" remix. Crucial (feat. Eric Leeds) (13 September 1986) - Work in progress version not intended for release but popular amongst fans. Crucial (feat. Eric Leeds with Prince on guitar) (13 September 1986) - As above. Wouldn’t You Love To Love Me? ‘86 (15 September 1986) Shockadelica (full length) (16 September 1986) Housequake (original 12” version) (18 October 1986) (Extended mix 26 October 1986) - May be different to 7 minutes mo quake? Also note: Housequake (Razormaid Remix) (1987) Rebirth Of The Flesh (original version) (28 October 1986) Rebirth Of The Flesh (finished version) (28 October 1986) Also note: All other Camille album tracks: Various edits made in this album's life cycle. As such more full length versions may exist. U Got The Look (full length) (21 December 1986) Wally (original recording) (28 December 1986) - Master destroyed. Only surviving cassette copy last seen by Susan Rogers. Unknown if it still exists. Other tracks of note: Power Fantastic (19 March 1986) - Both the intro and final vocals have been released, but not as part of the same track. Joy In Repetition (17 July 1986) - Unsegued recording. Not intended for release but popular amongst fans. It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Night (live) (25 August 1986) - Album version before studio overdubs. Older tracks updated around this era: Rough (Jill Jones vocals added: 8 January 1986) You’re My Love (Orchestra mix: 9 May 1986) Yah, You Know (Updated with horns: 4 June 1986) Songs recorded / released with other artists on lead vocals Prince guide vocals assumed to exist, but not known for certain *unless noted.
