- And so many other collaborators and ex band members told this story many times already. Nothing new. That's what make this all so damn complex and interesting at the same time. - What was it that Prince needed so badly from others that he couldn't do himself ? Remember what he said during an Lovesexy aftershow about ''Miss You'' by The Rolling Stones ? He said it laughing, but i always felt he meant it. To Prince, everything was 100% pure competition. And my guess is he couldn't bare anyone from his entourage writing a good (better?) song (even). He sure used his power over all of them, that skinny motherfucker with the high power. At least that's what I think. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

I like most of these studio engeneer interviews! > Perhaps his brother Bobby Z being The Revolution's drummer and Prince's pal was an incentive 4 him to hang around P and the band, and throw in some work expertise along the way. TrivialPursuit said:

Did anyone notice that Peggy was only paid $10/hr for work as an assistant engineer for the PR sessions?

- My god. The realness. She only got 45 $ for that particular session. I do hope she got extra pay for the long hours she did. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Even at that rate, it would still only be a total of $123.75 in 2021 $$$.

Did anyone notice on Sunset Sound Recorders YT there is the Prince “Kiss” demo? To me, the sound seems in better quality than I’d heard before. May be direct from original source? There may or may not be something coming!

It was damn near 40 years ago and she knew him before he was all that famous, lol. Engineers don't have to be mega fans of the artists they work for. She wasn't. No biggie. Fact is, Peggy Mac gets almost none of the recognition as someone like Susan Rogers yet she was the one at the boards for Prince's ascent. And she still doesn't spend any time ruminating on his relationships like Susan does. She just talks about her experience frankly.

There was also mention of David last being at Paisley Park to do some fixing of a board on a console about six months before Prince passes away. I’d like to think it wasn’t so much hanging around but genuinely that David Z’s technical knowhow was a little more vital than perhaps we’ll ever know. Looking after obsolete electronic equipment is something only old timers have the knowledge for - not that David Z is particularly old! There may or may not be something coming!
