Does P have a duet with another male artist? You'd think there'd be at least one out of thousands of options. Am I missing something obvious? If there aren't any, I'd say 'BAD' had no chance of getting made, no matter whose butt was whose.

*Kinda* with George Clinton on "We Can Funk" and Larry Graham on "Everyday Is A Winding Road", plus all the featured male rappers over the years. Maybe you could count "Count The Days"? But none of those are really duets. Usually if he appeared on another male artist's song, like Stevie Wonder's "So What The Fuss", it was as an instrumentalist. But in general I'd say no, he never really duetted with another male artist. "Bad" was never going to happen no matter what. [Edited 11/8/21 17:40pm]

Unreleased, but the demo version of High Fashion is a duet with him and St. Paul.

- Well you can't call it a duet, but he's all over on The Time's albums in the background. The Song 'Tricky', is that Prince or morris ? Or both? (Hell on most of his earlier protegés albums in fact.) Didn't he do something with Tevin Campbell ? ''The Dance Electric'' (André Cymone)? ''Kiss'' (Mazarati)? ''Shall We Dance'' (Brownmark) ? Or on that Ellis rapper's album ? On some NPG album with Tony M. ? Together with Larry Graham on one of his solo albums maybe ? - We know he played Live with a couple of known male pop/rock artists on stage... But they're not really duets, i know. - So nope. I don't think he ever did a duet with a man. Shame that the Michael Jackson's Bad, ''...You're But IS Mine...'' song never came about. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. The Latest Fashion. Depends on your definition of duet. He's had a few songs featuring male rappers. Q-Tip on Chocolate Box, Chuck D on Undisputed etc.

Paradigm with George Clinton. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

So, no, Tony M has no duets with P*. Neither does Eve, though I think she was the best rap feature he ever had. I'm talking about a male vocalist having a full verse, at least, and possibly a collaborative hook. "You Should Be Here" by Raphael Saddiq featuring D'angelo fits the bill. "Leave the Door Open" is another obvious choice. The closest thing I can think of is ironically a duet with Angie Stone where a guy sings the bridge (and was all in the video that was quietly made for it). *And technically, by my definition, Sexy MF is sorta one since both Prince and Tony are rapping. But... it's Tony M.

What about ‘Release It’? Both Morris and Prince sing/rap in similar styles and seem to be co-lead in the vocals. There may or may not be something coming!

- That's what I said/meant/thought too... But itsn't that just a The Time song with Pirnce on backing vocals alone ? - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

I had in my mind that Prince and Morris had more of a ‘battle’ type duet on it, but re-listened just now. Clearly Morris has lead vocals, with a few Jerome interjections, with several repeated samples of just Prince singing Release It. So no, I’d rule it out as a duet. I think there’s possibly a song or two that he duets with himself (e.g. falsetto in bits and then other bits in another register, if that’s what it’s called). I can’t think of any right now though. Edit: Well, with a little thought and listen (and it’s been said before), what about, “Just As Long As We’re Together” or “Forever In My Life”? Y'all males know that every time you sing along to Prince's songs you're performing a duet with another male artist right? Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…

. - I believe the author was thinking of one of those traditional duets, where two singers alternate some lines and (maybe) sing the chorus together, like those Tony Bennet and Sinatra ´Duets´ albums. And I dont consider guest rappers as duets. Rap is more like a solo in the middle of the song (like a guitar solo or sax solo)

I don't think he has any released ones
Why? Did he think it was 'gay' ? Something in his earlier years which surely wouldn't have been a problem with his male female energy? His JW years I imagine 4his could be something that would bother him although by his time of death, maybe not. Did he think he would.be upstaged? Did he think Noone was as good as he? Did he just not like anyone else's voice? Maybe he just didn't want to share the attention? Perhaps he didn't know how to write a song for two males? Could it he his voice didn't meld with male voices? Was he worried he'd be the less masculine one? So many questions what a good thread [Edited 11/10/21 16:17pm]

1999 has like 4 voices. That's not a DUet. I guess the answer to my question is simply, "NO." Even the awful Tony M additions on P's "rap" songs are technically features features. No need to split hairs. Prince clearly had no intention of doing a traditional duet (think: "Arms of Orion") with another man. It was just something I had never thought of until I was asked by a friend. Just seems crazy with such a vast catalogue. It would be awesome of there was a hidden duet in The Vault. But I'm not holding my breath.

George Clinton on 'We Can Funk' is the closest to a traditional duet with a male artist. 'Push It Up' features Chaka Khan and Larry Graham, but Larry does share verses with Prince as a co-lead vocalist, so that is pretty close to a duet also, as Chaka only sings the hook and some back-up vocals.
