The detail, especially on the face, is very impressive.

Nevertheless, it's beyond my price range.

I don't think anything is going to be 100%. However, this is 100% better than most items like this out there. It's about 10% off, to me. The expression is there and very Prince. Maybe something in the forehead or whatever could be adjusted.

But this is a gazillion times better than the wax figure of him.

Those curls tho!

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It's not the best likeness I've ever seen for sure. But it's still rather lovely.

Does militant still mod here?

Let's not derail the thread, but he changed his name to CaseyRain, banned Numbers23 for two weeks; a move which the whole Org revolted against. Numbers23 was back in a few days. The mod was never heard from again.

I assume he logged out and tried to forget his drunk on power move major faux pas. He's a nice guy, never had an issue with him, but that action in that moment was a dick move.

Back to the artwork - it really is lovely. But $800 is just unreasonable. And honestly, I don't need to own every piece of Prince junk out there. I've bought two books: Mayte's and Prince's. Those are the stories I want to hear. I've read the Purple Rain sessions because that's a fan's mapping out of things, not a bunch of former band member's takes on the truth. I couldn't care less to own a key ring or a goddamn mug. I have so many mugs. I sew, so I have tote bags out the ass around here.

To each his/her own. But on this one - nope.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Who Really Is Gonna Buy This?
$200 maybe 🤔
Not all Prince fans are eccentric millionaires!
Just disappointing think we’d all love purchase this at a reasonable price!

I just wish they would concentrate on the music.

Here's a YT video of it in hand. Looks fine. Personally, I'd prefer a deal between the estate and Hot Toys.

I would also prefer Hot Toys. Then at least we would get a figure that looks like Prince and not this way overpriced 'thing'.

I think it's beautiful BUT way way way too big. Even half the size would be better (but it would still cost 2/3 as much).

It's obvious what happened here: when it was first announced, it was an independent issue. Obviously, the Estate noticed, hit them with a copyright/trademark violation that said "Let us sell that for a share of the profits or we'll entertain you with lawsuits forevermore".

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I think it does actually.
What the artist got wrong is Prince's look.

If Prince doesn't look at you straight in the eye,
from the same angle the photographer chose,
half of the iconic quality of the frame is gone.

The trademark of Prince's Intense Look™
is seeing the white of the eye under the iris.
It's this bizarre trick of opening your eyes wide while folding the tip of your eyebrow
(you just tried it, didn't you).

And where's our sexy, almost menacing grin?
Hidden under his too-bushy blond mustache?

I'm being picky, the execution is flawless,
I think the artist, or was it the 3-D printers firmware developers,
well deserved their 800 bucks.
Or at least what's left of it
once the Thieves In The Temple get their share.

Hats off, Estate.
You can't make a single decent Deluxe Edition,
but you sure got skills in adultescent extorsion.

Wtf?

Who needs a f*cking statue of Prince on a goddamned bike?!?!?!?!

Release more music!!!!

This REALLY shouldn't be so difficult.

Seriously. It's a statue, I looked at the picture. I never need to see it again.

Now, some new music, estate?
