They clearly have their finger on the pulse of what fans want... another vinyl pressing of a widely available album, this time using the worst possible master lol

Guessing that if I ordered this from the UK I’d get hit with fat customs charges or whatever, so not sure whether to bother with this...

Ugh, but I assume it will still sell well.

It might be cool to get this with the intention of framing it. Not for listening to though!

One of the main reasons for delays in vinyl production is poxy coloured vinyl. So instead of a much wanted Special Deluxe Edition Of Parade, D&Ps or even Controversy, we get the option of possibly the worst remastered record in history with all channels just turned up to 11. What a crock of shit. Thankfully I’ve still got the original purple vinyl version of this.
There may or may not be something coming!

.

Please explain why one would want to obtain the worst remaster in the Pricne catalog to date on purple vinyl?

Does vinyl lessen the bad remastering?

After my initial rant about this, I’ve come to the conclusion that this might sell a few, needing next to no promotion, little extra production cost (unlike having to remaster vault and other original album tracks) and partners of Prince fans might see it on the Target shelves, think, “Oh, Dave/Sarah likes Prince. This looks pretty/cool, it’ll do as his/her Christmas present.”

In the absence of production time for a big Super Deluxe, this may serve the purpose of generating more money, to keep paying staff wages for the real work of archiving and restoring all the Vault stuff we’d like. It might also pique the interest of casual fans to look out for the and purchase the next proper release.

Do some of the people buying vinyl even play it, or do they put it on their shelf to look nice and impress their hipster friends?

Let's hope it sells and the funds will get us a new vault collection!

How about a DELUXE Edition on Vinyl? Otherwise, it's just 4 the "Fly By Night" Fans
