According to the most recent update from Chart Masters, Purple Rain has sold over 37 Million copies worldwide and is currently the #31 biggest selling album of all time.

Wrong. Charmaster has a way of calculating popularity of an album, by accounting the best of sales, streaming, etc. If The very best of sold 5 millions, 4/17 of it is filled with PR songs. So he does the maths : 4/17*5 millions = etc. So with every best of, he adds 9,220,000 sales due to Purple Rain. Then there's streaming, singles sales, etc. In fact, according to him, Purple Rain sold " Only" 23 millions worldwide, before adding " Popularity sales".
