Prince live concerts that exist on tape

So I'm a longtime prince fan. I saw
Him live. My question is is there a complete
List of shows that circulate?
I'm not asking to trade or buy just want
The info. I believe I am in possession
Of an extremely rare prince show that is
Great sound quality audience. Rare possibly
Very possibly not circulating!
Okay y'all. Don't say the vault that's not
Not tapes. Ok. I bought crystal ball went
To Best buy saw it there before I got
Mine in the mail...with no booklet😊🤨
At least I got the truth Kamasutra and
The war.

Without saying which show you have, we can't know if it's rare or not.

That, + in fact most shows (I have no exact figure, but I'd say an easy 90% of them) are in circulation. This isn't widely known because most didn't do it to proper bootlegs, but the cassettes have all been ripped to digital and are occasionally found online in big batches.

Most, however, are terrible (in terms of sound quality) audience recordings that you probably wouldn't wanna listen to, and I could never bother getting (let alone listening to) all of them.

Best bet is to look first for soundboard recordings, then for the most beloved audience recordings.

In 1992 i saw the diamond and pearls concert, in Manchester UK, it was not only the best Prince concert, but teh best concert ever. It Must have been 40,000 fans and i saw a guy in the middle recording the concert on camera. I just wish if that recorded existed, i looked everywhere.

I been to many Prince live shows and they are all recorded as they are displayed on 2 big screens.

Yeah, it went away sometime in the last week or so. I've heard it's possibly coming back, but no such luck yet. Was a great site, and yeah, there's a ridiculously large number of (publicly circulating) recordings--I'm not sure if Databank's estimate of 90% is true, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were accurate.

This might be true for Prince (?), but the fact that a concert is displayed on big screens doesn't mean it has officially been recorded and archived.

Lovitzj, probably not the best idea to post links to bootlegs on here. There are plenty of places on Facebook and Discord for that.

Thats what i heard, they must record, then what is the point. Because some of the live shows have been professionaly used like on 3 chains of gold, and Diamonds and pearls colletion both on vhs there is live clips of live 4 love and the max at various live gigs.

Prince recorded most of his live concert performances. His primary purpose was to routinely review these (often immediately after the night's performance) to consider future improvements.

There is an audience recording in circulation for the performance on 17 December 1997 at Bradley Center Arena, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA:

It seems Prince recorded everything he could. We know he liked to watch his own performances for improvement, and he began with the one camera set-up quite early in his career (if not from the beginning?), so I'm pretty sure he took advantage of the direct multicam setting for big screens when he had one: video tape was cheap, and then digital made it all the more easier.
