Yup. This line is why I wrote that post about lines that ruin a song Song was so great until that. Idk why he has to throw in a 'joke' like that one!

That's a sibling to the line, "She knows how to make you feel like your stuff ain't brown tonight." Bless. Eye roll. Only Prince.

This is what it sounds like...

Sweet jebus, the "only Prince" crowd is yet again claiming Prince did something unique when what he did is very common. . This "using another word instead of a naughty one" is typical of religious hypocrites. Example: saying fudge instead of fuck. But it is hypocrisy because you're pretending not to say the word, but your intention is the same. © Bart Van Hemelen

This is basically him repeating a device from adore btw
'Well maybe not the ride' ended up becoming stupid lines like this instead His lyric writing really did get worse as the years went on, dumber, blunter, and often just tonally messy [Edited 8/6/21 22:41pm]

I actually don't really mind that line, but I prefer the fuller sound (accordian and all) on the Hit N Run version.

I found that whole song a bit meh with silly lyrics… but listening to the HR2, this version has to be a demo right? Keenmeister

Very that! It almost ruins an otherwise fine song.

Only OLDER prince. He previously had more sense about what worked and what didn't. stupidity in modern pop culture got to him.

I think it works musically and lyrically though. Onomatopoeia and all that jazz. Life Matters

That line took me by complete surprise on first listen. It doesn’t bother me but it does seem a bit out of place

It's a surprisingly raw, stripped-down song, so I didn't actually find the line too incongruous.

LOL--like a more technical language would fit the lyrical tone: "seeeexuallllllah inrercourse wirh yoooou!" > GAL, Bert.

LOVE this version but the ish line is a bit cringeworthy. "I like to watch."
