There are various obvious runs of albums in the 80s, but no three in a row that I truly love.

Symbol-Come-TGE is a good call - but Come could and should have been better.

For something a bit different, how about The Rainbow Children-One Nite Alone...-Xpectation.

It's certainly fascinatingly diverse.

Agree on: Symbol - Come - TGE

or Come - Exodus - TGE

Sign O' The Times / Lovesexy / Batman

(including all the Lovesexy and Batman b-sides).

Batman gets a lot of shit in these parts, but i seem to return there the most.

Any number of triplets from the 80s

Come Gold Exodus is not bad either

And if HNR1 did not exist, how about AOA/HNR2/W2A for a run at a very different time of his career

The Future and Electric Chair are such a wonderful opening one-two punch.

My first instinct/gut reaction was to say 1999-Purple Rain-ATWIAD. Then I hesitated because, for me, ATWIAD is pretty uneven, but when I consider all of 85’s output, I’m sticking with it.

I think you need to place W2A after 20Ten, if at all.

I'll add my name to the list of people endorsing this string of albums:

Parade > Sign O' the Times > Lovesexy

To me, there's not even a close second place.
