What if "Shhh" Were Prince's Comeback Single After "Purple Rain"? Just a little hypothetical that popped into my head after listening to Shhh recently. That would've been awesome and would've been a nice progression from the PR era. Just different enough but commercial enough to be a big hit. Thoughts?

What if I was 6'3, 200# and hung like a horse? Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I think if it were 10 years between Purple Rain and The Gold Experience, WB would have dropped Prince long since and no one would have known who he was anymore. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Trollin', trollin' we could have fun just trollin'... Shhh is a piece of crap, no wonder he gave this shit to a kid. And when he saw urban listeners were into that shit, he" covered" It.

Hmmm and here I thought it was a popular song on here. But I admit to being a fan of mass popularity Prince in my hindsight mind, so following up PR with such a drastic cosmic shift doesn't play into that (AWTIAD). But now that I know that Shhh is a piece of crap...

dance electric (the one with guitar) was his best bet for the pr sound part 2 .. roadhouse garden gspot would be good on pr2 electric intercourse possessed could have been a nice transition to around the world styles .. however raspberry beret pop life america are all solid pr style too and throw in kiss and why do u even need a comeback single when those are all stone cold classics .. shh was always pretty meh in my book

Girl, the reason people are taking the piss out of this thread is because it makes no sense. What if Prince releases a song he wrote 9 years later? What in the actual hell. What if the follow up single was Like A Mack? Who the hell knows because that reality is less likely than TP growing a horse dick without the use of clever angles.

It beats Insatiable if you Want, since it s a piece of crap too. Scandalous is a masterpiece, he didn't waste that song to a kid. Coming back ten years after Purple Rain, and with such crap, OMG what kind of troll you have to be to seriously think that. [Edited 7/26/21 23:06pm]

I love ´Shhh´, but I dont think it would be a big hit. I love it mostly because of Prince and Michael B´s solos. . It´s interesting that it was one of the few 90s songs that he played almost until the end. Maybe because it was his ´guitar moment´, or he really liked it.
