"Pop Life" UK 12" is also the full version. "Whatever skin we're in

I don;t know if sequencing was the album's problem - assuming it has a problem which I don't think it does even though I don't love it.

"come-at-able" It's the perfect 'Prince and the Revolution' album. Please leave it alone. Thanks. G'bye. "Whatever skin we're in

From Wikipedia:
This is the updated version by Merriam-Webster. "I before e, except after c Or when sounded as 'a' as in 'neighbor' and 'weigh' Unless the 'c' is part of a 'sh' sound as in 'glacier' Or it appears in comparatives and superlatives like 'fancier' And also except when the vowels are sounded as 'e' as in 'seize' Or 'i' as in 'height' Or also in '-ing' inflections ending in '-e' as in 'cueing' Or in compound words as in 'albeit' Or occasionally in technical words with strong etymological links to their parent languages as in 'cuneiform' Or in other numerous and random exceptions such as 'science', 'forfeit', and 'weird'."

Paisley Park (with extended version opening guitar) Pop Life America (a bit longer)
Temptation(without the dialogue <- put that on a B side) Tamborine (needed to be released with a wild extended version) She's Always In My Hair Raspberry Beret Condition of the Heart
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yes, an extended but not that extended version of America would work well for me, good thinking! Either that or open up side 2 with Condition of the Heart if we're struggling to fit it all on side 1. and I definitely mean the extended version of pop life and not the remix! ICNTTPOYM would have fit this album nicely.
Add She's always in My Hair
Remove "Temptation". Worse Prince song of the Golden Era.
End with the Ladder instead (but its still a poor man's Purple Rain) [Edited 7/26/21 6:07am]

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Well for starters wasn't 95% of the album recorded before Purple Rain was even released? It wasn't written with Purple Rain insanity in mind, although possibly it was tracked that way.

also, prince was a popular music artist. pop music is never just about pure artistic intent. and prince was definitely NOT an artist scared of success or who shied away from it, or had an awkward relationship with it. he loved it. courted it, wanted it. even when it was difficult to process some of what came with it - eg large crowds, or lack of privacy, solitude. this is a guy who started having a bodyguard (who would stand in between him and his band) arguably BEFORE he even needed one! similarly, he made his post-success album, his 'comedown' album, before he even had anything to come down from! he had it all mapped out, and lucky for him, it panned out as it did. had PR not been that big a hit, im pretty sure ATWIAD would have been quite a different album.

Agree that The Ladder would make a better closing track. I'm not wild about the song but concur that it fits better there.

“Temptation” is terrible.I never even listen to that one.

Haven't read any other responses because I want to ask what is meant by sequence? Is it the order of the songs?
I would really like to see a lot of silver and gold sequence. There's no such thing as too much gold and silver sequence. [Edited 7/26/21 18:29pm] Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…
