Welcome 2 America Playlist

Hello smile
I'm trying to compile a list of songs together that I can add to W2A to make a "Deluxe" edition of the album.
So far I have added Black Muse (after I edited it) and the live versions of Dreamer/W2A. I was thinking about adding the Dreamer (Studio Version) also. What other songs close to that era would fit, if any? Theme wise or sound wise. Thanks smile

I also added Check The Record (Live). I think the alternate lyrics go good with the theme

Bit later but maybe Chapter And Verse. Shelby gets a mention and there’s a link to a line from her rap on Same Page, Different Book

Having listened to the album I think it would work so much better with less songs as a EP. All themed around the freeing and slavery concepts.

Maybe additional songs as mentioned above would compliment that EP.

What happened to 'We Live to Get Funky' - which started a few of the shows on the Euro W2A tour? Also, People Pleaser - also on that French Show the day before Hop Farm. Gingerbreadman was also around the same time?

Morris Hayes stated that something like 10 new unreleased albums were recorded by Prince between 2010-13 alone, so it's likely the songs you've mentioned are somewhere on those other 9 albums.

'People Pleaser' was released on Andy Allo's Superconductor album though.

Ight, the version on the W2A tour seemed different to her solo released version, more of an NPG of that era feel that we get from songs on W2A.

It came way earlier but "When Will We Be Paid" definitely seems to fit the theme of the album. But you did say "close to this era" so feel free to ignore this suggestion based on that criteria smile

And Act of God. Surprised no one 's come up with this yet.

This is not music, this is a trip
No, it's not a drug, it's something more hip
Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
Purple music does the same to my brain

I have absolutely zero interest in reviewing this album lol

and I'm sure the interest in me doing it, is even less than that

Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

"Call My Name" and "Dear Mr. Man" both fit lyrically and musically.
