I'm not one to be cynical about the media like a lot of people are these days but a bit of this in this article sounds hyperbolic. |

It's true the gig had sound issues (the first song was almost a sound check), but it was also one of his best performances that year. . |

The show was amazing, but the sound check was actually a highlight, with Prince running through ‘we love to get funky’ and peppering it with a stream of instructions to the sound team to help them correct the appalling audio that affected all the warm up acts. 5 mins with Prince in charge and all fixed! Boss. |

I love watching that first song too. It's stunning to watch Prince do all that in front of an audience. |

Probably, of all the live shows I’ve seen P, this was the most fun and energetic

Was that song ever intended to be released? It had a real Sly Stone vibe and I would love to have heard an official released version. |

I could be wrong but I don't think so. I can't remember if it was on Andy Allo's album or not but it was played a lot on that tour. The French TV performance (the one where Prince clearly just fell into someone's wardrobe and wore whatever he found lol) was fun too. |

Agree SquirrelMeat - it's a night that will live long in the memory (for anyone who was there).
The article is a little bit salacious and tabloid leaning in places (playing up and inflating his erratic nature)...but Prince was also a very professional performer with high standards.
Enjoyed reading that, just needed a pinch of salt. |

Did you get to stay over of have the joy of trying to get out of the car park afterwards?

I was so pleased I got to go to this, I remember debating booking tickets incase he cancelled as I was so sure it was too good to be true. JaneyPoos used to be it... then they changed what it was. Now what I am isn't it and what is it is strange and frightening to me...
