Playlist for a friend A good buddy of mine that I jam with regularly asked me to make him a playlist of Prince songs that I think he might like based on what my favorites are. Would love to hear your feedback! Let the song choice loving/hating begin https://tidal.com/playlis...c4c2fb80e7

Some great tracks on there! Seems a little unfocused but that's the problem with P. What do u focus on? Rock? Funk? Live jams? Ballads? Seems like u went for more of an eclectic focus for your musician friend.

YEah, need more info. What instrument does he play? What does he listen to and like? What sorts of music does he play, etc.

Thanks for checking it out and the feedback.

Oh wow, those are some great suggestions, will strongly consider them! Thank you! I actually made a Spotify list too, since he doesn’t have Tidal. Here’s a link to that, which is slightly different but mostly the same. https://open.spotify.com/...l_branch=1

OMG. He asked you for a playlist, not for 50 or more completely random tracks. He would be lost buy the tenth track, and it woud be a pain in the ass inthe end to retain anything significant here. Just buy him Purple Rain on vinyl , that would be a good start. Then if he likes it, try SOTT.

Nice to see Joint 2 Joint on your playlist - gem of a song that one! Some great choices on there, but perhaps a little too long for your friend to digest. I'd recommend starting him on 12-15 songs and see how he gets on. Take it from there.

Thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated. He went on to say that he could see where I picked up my style of playing from, which to me is a huge compliment bc I didn’t think I picked up anything from listen to Prince style wise, but I guess it’s subconscious and I didn’t even realize.

Could you copy and paste the playlist you gave him for us? That is great to hear that he is now a fan. [Edited 7/13/21 21:01pm]
