Your favorite version of Forever in my Life? Live or otherwise. I've always loved the 4 Those of U on Valium version, but I'm really loving the demo right now. The Utrecht one is really friggin good too (though the show sounds a bit flat to me).

The demo "explains" a lot of elements we've heard elsewhere. Like, "fooooooooorrrrever in my life" chant that was used in concert. It's part of the original. The background vocals and chord structure is great to hear. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

There were some live versions that were based on the loop of the album version where it sounded really powerful, and that kind of dissonant synth rhythm from the SOTT version is even more exaggerrated. This was late around the 2010-2011 touring times. I think he would actually funk bass solo, but they would go into the full song as well. At least from what I remember. The album version

I think the demo version is sweeter, kinder. And it has that random piano intro. The album version is much more somber to me. I like both equally.

I always click off the demo during the extended end but I really enjoy the song before that.
I also really like the sparse production on the album version. Especially the la la da da da da da da (synth, synth) part. I can't tell. That's so catchy. Guess I'll give ths one my favorite nod but it depends on the day.
Don't like the live version at all with the girls screaming over Prince. It just too chaotic and the end is always boring.
(all my opinions, if you dig it, that's cool)

the one in the movie is so good, I love the way Boni contributes so amazingly and then Prince takes it up a notch from there. that performance is so amazing.

SOTT movie version by a mile. The CD version just lacks that passion.

i can't recall the rehearsal, but Prince just goes off on an acoustic guitar master baiting freak for all that gets the song all juicied up. yeah, i like that one the best. "Whatever skin we're in
we all need 2 b friends" | |

The demo version should have been released and promoted as an edited single. That thing has airplay written all over it.
