"Manic Monday," but WTF? Susannah Hoffs sang "Manic Monday" on CNN on their The Fourth In America Celebration. " don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

I understand what you say. It is 'her' song. this style supports the violins that end the 'sentences'. The urgency or manic doesn't come across. It is to laid back for my taste/. I assume The sunday before wasn't that epic appearantly (Priorities change with age. In youth a good sunday-marathon may be important and as elder you already happy when you can hold your pee).

Sounds great to me, nice violin and vocal flourishes. Hoffs looks great for 40, forget 60 merf

Look at it from Susanna's point of view: She's probably been singing this same song at every concert she's performed since 1985. She needs to spice it up somehow, because you can't not sing it.

This Version has certainly her flavour but I miss something in relation with the song and lyrics. It feels off. I don't mind different Versions.
that said...it still beats the appolonia version [Edited 7/9/21 9:41am] [Edited 7/9/21 9:46am]

If there's something I don't like about the performance it is that she has her eyes closed most of the time. Other than that, it's fine. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

All the musicians sound very sad, and not in a good way. The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

Huh, I like it. She's adding a little melancholy to it.

The bridge was fantastic. The melody on violin was fantastic. So is Susannah, please stop the hate. Thanks "Whatever skin we're in

It didn't make me think of Bob Dylan for one second. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

This sliding way of 'singing' at the end of each sentence ruins the melody I think.

the only WTF is how anyone could ever think she is less than perfection.

That's a nice point of view. Thanks/

If you hadn't said anything, I never would have noticed. She's singing live - versus the recording we've all heard for 35 years. And she's 62. Losing most of your estrogen can do a real number on your voice. (I know whence of I speak.) She sounds great. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I gave it another listen and I still don't get the Dylan comparison. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.
