CBS This Morning: Prince's Shoes From Stacia Lang's Instagram:
Hello, Purple Fam! I am so excited to share with you that tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, bright and early, CBS This Morning is doing a segment on the new Prince shoe exhibit, “The Beautiful Collection: Prince’s Custom Shoes”, set to be unveiled this week! I sat down with Jamie Yuccas in the archives of Paisley Park to discuss my designs for Prince, and the important role that his shoes played in his style and his performance. I even got a few wonderful surprises, as I saw some of my shoe design sketches that I haven’t seen in 30 years! Thank you, Paisley Park, and the crew from CBS for a fabulous interview and a sneak peek at the most luxurious display of yet another of Prince’s most iconic instruments—his SHOES.
Set your DVRs. It'll probably be on the CBSTM YouTube page by noon ET.
Edit: Here's the video.
(Updated video link; CBS re-uploaded it) [Edited 7/7/21 18:16pm] Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Thanks for the link!
I think someone stated it before, but even though his style was unique and amazing, these shoes that he rocked all the time were the first domino...
My favorite is the polka dot to match the suit.

I kinda dig the green ones from the Lovesexy era, with the letters on them (a la "Alphabet St."). Very Riddler-esque, which sorta acted as an unintentional foreshadowing to his involvement in the DC Universe a year later.
It's kinda great that we can look at a pair of shoes and know, for about 80% of them, exactly when he wore them on stage.

That reminds me of when he stopped the Lovesexy concert and told everyone to check out his shoes. I don't think they were green. Maybe blue? I don't remember. |

Those green Alphabet ones, like the blue cloud shoes, were only worn in the video IIRC.

Seriously? The estate is working hard to keep Paisley alive while payig off the $50-$150 million total estate tax bill? Do you seriously believe that the people producing the new releases are the same people archiving and cataloging his personal effects? Paisley displays take nothing away from the music and are aimed at bringing in new fans.

He didn't wear that outfit in the Alphabet St. video. He did wear it on the Lovesexy tour.

I just saw the green ones. He definitely wasn't wearing them when I saw him on 10/2/88. It's possible they were blue suede shoes. I wish my brain worked better. |

I mean, when he told the crowd to look at his shoes, they were not bright green. It's possible he wore them at a different time that evening, but I don't think so. |

I was trying to find some mention of the shoes Prince so adored he stopped his concert to admire them, but all I could find were these impressive knee-high deals. https://footwearnews.com/...on-224633/ |

I meant he wore the bright green ones sometimes, not every show. He changed it up from show to show.
