Rainbow Children. For years I just didn't connect with it musically, and found the narration really off putting. I still don't particularly like the narration, but I love the album as a whole. It sounds fresh, energised, funky and some great guitar.

For You took some time to cook with me. Hit N Run 2, went from liking just a couple to all of it. If I'm honest, I didn't like 1999 nearly as much as a kid as when I was an adult in my late 20s. Then I could actually understand songs like Something in the Water and Lady Cab Driver

Planet Earth Has become one of my favorite albums "I want to be the only one you come for...."

I've been listening to a lot of Prince albums again recently and the ones I now love are New Power Soul and The Slaughterhouse. Apart from about five songs from both, I've replayed them both constantly. I also rediscovered how amazing The Rainbow Children is and - religious themes or not - I will take no slander on its name lmao. It's got so many funky jams, and a couple of sensual ones in there too. I love how he was able to mix such heavy JW themes into songs like Mellow and Everlasting Now eye dont think U heard me . . .

Musicology. I didn't like it that much when it was released and it has been one of my least favorite albums but I enjoy it more now. I think it's better than 3121, Planet Earth and 20ten. Welcome 2 The Dawn

Lovesexy. I didn't get into it at first because I didn't have the original copy with the lyrics. And that was a bummer to hear again When 2 R in Love... Other album s, if I didn't like it the first 15 listening, then I never liked it after.

I wish Lovesexy would grow on me...it's ok, very creative, but the music does not connect for the most part. Never figured out how others rate it so highly. But Dance On merf

"Emancipation" for me. I was overwhelmed and diappointed when it came out but it's moved it's way up my ranking. Since I've seen a few mention it I've always loved "Planet Earth"

- Parts of it. Certainly the opening track ! What a fantastic piece or pure Prince. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Because of the haphazard marketing and WB/Prince disregard, I didnt initially LOVE The Vault or Come the way I do now...they have now made it into my Prince Top 10. So many brilliant Gems from the two.

I don't think I have enough years left for Planet Earth to ever grow on me.

I've always loved many of the 'throwaway' albums that don't get so much love (Planet Earth, 20Ten etc), but for me, I still find Lotusflow3r a chore. I've tried and tried, but I find it too much a generic homage. It's very retrospective. .

I tried it yet again today and for me most of the songs on Planet Earth just fall flat though I like a few. I have enjoyed it before for mellow easy listening on the early morning commute, but as a focal point it just doesn't work. I am glad it works better for other folks.

Welcome 2 America For all time I am with you, you are with me.

The Rainbow Children, once I got over the door-knocker stuff, I really appreciated the musical craftsmanship I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

My issue with Lotusflow3r is that it has a really strong first half, and then just falls apart and becomes a generic, boring mess.
Anyways, I couldn't find anything to like about 20Ten when I first heard it. Still near the bottom of my list, but now enjoy songs like Future Soul Song and Act of God and also Compassion to an extent.

- Man Opera ? - What is that ? - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

- You don't need years. Just 45 minutes. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

- I even have a weak love for ''New Power Soul''. That track with Chaka = soooo good (imho of ocurse). BOOM ! - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

- Thank you very much. Appreciate it. I know the songs, but either forgot or missed that title; ''Man Opera''. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

But Dance On I don't think I ever really connected to it until I saw the concert (my first Prince), and then when I got the boot video. I think initially Eye No, for instance, was just cacophony.

1999
First Bought it with just 10 songs on CD
Second time buying it 11 songs, DMSR added
Third time buying it grew immensely, think 57 songs, plus a live cd, and a live dvd merf
