LOVE THIS. The energy and performance...the vocals. Wow. It is one of those songs that you're amazed he shelved for the entirety of his life. I think the sound is poor and so likely not from the masters. I expect the estate will do a proper SDE of Purple Rain and this song will get better treatment. |

In fact would say its one of the true gems and dare I save fav from the SOTT Deluxe release.

Both versions are reallly quite genius, but nothing compared to Future Soul Song, Here, A Million Days, Wasted Kisses, Xtraloveable, Black Muse, Boom, Wow, Anotherlove, Hardrocklover, 3121, Come, Gold, Billy Jack Bitch, Space, Five Women, She Spoke 2 Me, 3 Chains of Gold, Willing and Able, or Thieves in the Temple.

As I said before, P is like 10 great songwriters rolled into one. But ignoring musical genres, artistically there are 3 of him. Prince we know from official albums, live Prince where the songs performed live sound so different, and vault Prince which is an unknown quantity right now, but could turn out to be the most brilliant of all. [Edited 6/8/21 17:48pm] The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
