He's not perfect casting, but he is good casting.

"Good"? Barely. And "good" is not enough. There is absolutely no perfect.
Suggestions about Bruno Mars (a thick-bodied semi-talented hack compared to Prince) also are non-starters.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

With all the material Prince recorded on video from movies to anthologies of his farts over the years, I'm more interested in what is real rather than some rehashed McStory about a dead person.

Indeed!

The Estate should give acces to ALL prince video's,

And let someone with honest intentions make a person-correct image of Prince.

i'm sure there are enough Prince interviews even to pick the true life story line from, together

with counter remarks of those who were there and are still alive,

as well as professionals fro mthe industry, psychologists, whatever.

Make it indeed an art-musical-bio-docu-film without a plot nor a made up story.

I think THAT would be just the best thing to remember him for all and for good.

They can even make a two episode documentary of it.

-

Prince, the way he was. A two faced purple bitch with a scene side and a private side. lol

Nah just kidding.

NO ONE should or could portray Prince in a biopic.
Especially a fake-attack pity-seeker.
Even the impersonators are too big, too made-up, can't sing, can't dance.

IF (when) there is one, they should should events from Prince's perspective (through his eyes).
Show him only in performance videos.

An art film.
Different from anything else.

Maybe Todd Haynes could do what he did for Dylan with I'm Not There. Cate Blanchett can outdo everyone again. Or maybe Jada Pinkett... or Halle Berry... ?

NO!

That said, the Prince movie needs to be animated. Nobody has all the qualities, size, look, voice, presence, to pull it off.

Not dead, not in prison, still funkin'...

Donald Glover. (He can lip synch).

If that's your criteria, you should never watch another movie again.

It sounds like the consensus is NO to a biopic but we KNOW its going to happen. And odds are there will be 2 or 3 of them around the same time if history is any indication. There'll at a minimum be one on Lifetime (which will probably be by far the worst of them), BET (likely the best of them), and one other cable network. That's not including possibly Netflix and/or Amazon Prime.

We might as well submit some ideas!!

I submit Anthony Ramos or Donald Glover.

Also, I wouldn't mind some CGI-animated/live-action hybrid. Something completely off the wall!

I don't know much about Smollett's or Ramos's vocal skills, tho I think they could be good enough actors. I do know that Miguel is one guy who could handle his own vocals. In every other area, he's a bit of a question mark, tho.

Y'all suggesting all these thick guys. Yeah looks just like him.

That whole netflix documentary went silent it seems. That's how tough it is. I'm bracing for anything and everything at this point. He's gotta have his share of Lifetime-esque biopics like everybody else. Everybody's personal version of who they think he was has to be thoroughly explored. *sigh* ~smile~
