Opinions on "Hypno Paradise"?

I always this was a fun song back when I discovered it in 2005.Heard it again today and sounds much better than I remember it.Always like a emancipation outtake in the vain of "Sleep Around"?
Any of you like it?

Yes I like it. I like the dreamy/fantasy nature of it. I like the melody; “Hypno Paradiiiiise oh oh oh”
Anyone giving it a mark out of ten deserves to be made to listen to Purple and Gold on a loop.

Love it! I’m partial to most emancipation outtakes though, it doesn’t make sense to me why songs like “Slave 2 The System”, “Heart of Stone” and “I’m The DJ” we’re canned in place of some of the duds that ended up on the album.

I enjoy it a great deal. It's believed to have been recorded circa 98-99.

I loved the snippet of 'Funk Radio' that comes from the same time period, but unfortunately, that was never released. Madrid 2 Chicago is a 97/98 solo Prince album that was never fully released (other than the title track and 'Breathe' via NPGMC) and I'm sure there are others from this era.

I like it - I feel like it reminds me of Human Body but done successfully.

I always imagined putting the shots of the people of Oz in "The Wiz" doing their crowded musical numbers where the fashionable color changes, ouside at night at the bottom of the twin towers of The World Trade Center when I heard this.

1000%

Musicology was a beautifully produced snoozefest in comparison to TSH/TCI

I remember not liking hypnoparadise but can't even recall it in my mind, so I might have to give it another listen. But I can still hear Silicon and Golden Parachute and they may be two of my least favourite Prince tracks. I can't even make it to the end of them.

RIP sad

The Slaughterhouse is one of Prince's "blackest" sounding albums...for lack of a better, more politically correct description...and that has alot to do with why it wasnt more widely enjoyed by a large segment of his alleged fanbase and almost despised by so called "mainstream" music critics

Can’t quite articulate exactly why, but I have always despised it.

It sounds like a remix of music from an episode of Fantasy Island

In all honestly, I'd dare call it my least favorite Prince song. I'm not a huge fan of Slaughterhouse to begin with, and I damn near almost skipped the song when I was initially listening to the album.

It's certainly unique and interesting. I don't mind it, but I have to be in a certain mood to hear it... and that mood doesn't come around too often.

SweetKathleen

The title brings to mind Mayte's telling of Prince's "hypnotizing" of her which kinda fits with the timeline of the recording of this song. I thought the hypnotic sessions he had with her were somewhat sweet but also maybe a little creepy and fake. I like the song fine though.

whats the source for it supposedly being recorded in 98, or around then?

I know on the december euro NPS tour he said the words hypno paradise over a jam a few times. guess thats why people reckon it was done around then.

Funk radio sounded so cool, would love to hear that one day.

Either that or it was an internet-only compilation of internet only NPG Music Club odds and ends that flew completely under the radar except to us diehards.
