Yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever it's always been "Uptown". I had seen Prince quite a few times and it was always a dream to attend a show where he opened with it. Well, on November 12, 2000 at the Convocation Center in Cleveland he opened with it and I cried tears of joy while singing along with it word for word.
A dream come true for sure! Who's the private d*ck that's a sex machine to all the chicks?

I still get chills when I hear this song.It's so powerful and amazing! Forever in my life. Hypnotic, soulful, and still funky. I could have said Girl, Alphabet street or Take me with u. But I will go with this one. | |

Purple Music. One of my fave pieces of music to smoke to as well. Everything about the song makes me smile from ear to ear: the phone speaker voice, the linn drums, the synth and his rhythm guitar. Just an all-around fun song. | |

Bonus: The Song that made Me a Fan was 1978's "Just As Long As We're Together". I think I STILL have the Promo 45 somewhwere. i bought it as a 10 Year Old in 1978 @ My Local Wrecka Stow!!!

It always amazes me to read posts like this! 78 prince was soooo different to latter day prince yet you caught on so early! Even for you/prince prince was a totally different animal to dirty/cont prince but you followed through before the glory days even began. I only knew him from the truly big ones onwards. Yes I much prefer his version to chakas too | |
