That “Flash” cassette is tempting. I haven’t heard the ‘Fire’ cover, or I think ‘We can hang’, nor ‘Brand new boy’!

Interesting.
A magnetic tape recording on TDK SA-X60 brand cassette tape, featuring music legend Prince singing a unique 1-minute and 45-second studio rendition of "Happy Birthday to You," accompanied by an upbeat and intricate bass line, percussion track, and keyboards. The subject of the song in the lyrics is only specified as "Darling" but it is believed to have been recorded for Mayte Garcia, a performer in Prince's backup band The New Power Generation and to whom Prince was later married. The cassette is hand labelled "Happy Birthday," and the case insert is hand labelled "Happy Birthday" Nov. 12, 1992."

I wonder is most of this stuff from her? ![confused](/i/s/icon_confused.gif)
One item says:
"Accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Prince's former wife Mayte Garcia stating that the outfit was worn by Prince on stage during the mid to late 1990s. Arellanes was awarded the contract to design Prince's stage wear for his Jam of the Year World Tour."

The auction house didn't want to go hunt down a "petite male" mannequin. They also might think it makes it more marketable to the rich eccentric that might buy auction fashion for reasons other than displaying it.

Dang. If that were me, I would've kept that. Ex-husband or not. |

I've looked through the auction items and a lot are from Mayte.
I'm in two minds about this as from reading the letters of authenticity they were in her possesion for whatever reason and she has every right to sell but the particular ring below made me feel quite sad.
https://www.julienslive.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/365/lot/159214?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F365%3Fpage%3D1%26view%3Dlist%26key%3Dmayte%2Bgarcia%26sale%3Dundefined%26catm%3Dany%26order%3Dorder_num%26xclosed%3Dno%26featured%3Dno
Most people have items that belonged to loved family members and I think this at least could've/should've been gifted to Tyka from Mayte.
Some other items could've been returned to Paisley Park. A good profit would still be made even if there were only half of what's listed in the auction.

Would you keep your ex-husband's left-behinds for over 20 years?
Female mannequins fit the clothing.

Based on Mayte's statement about the source of (some/the) items being FROM STORAGE AT OUR GALPIN HOME, it's obvious he didn't burn everything. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. |

I mean, I probably wouldn't have kept my exhusbands clothes and jewelry and everything else at all much less then cashed in when he died. She's been doing yearly dumps since then. I'm unclear what her mode of income is beyond her dead exhusbands blouses. |

Was thinking the same...
Could this be a 'song' ? or just him on piano or guitar ?
I wonder...
-
Interesting item.

Nah, they don't make that much $ anymore.
