I voted Way Back Home, but it s true that Black Muse is a great contender. The guy that made Purple Rain, made 7 years after hip hop success album, then completely reinvented himself again ten years after in 2001, and still succeeded in releasing songs that came out of the blue, such as Way Back Home, Black Muse, June... If released by a younger act, these would have been overexposed, but by a 55+ years old Prince, nobody gave a fuck about it. But these were overall very good material. Amazing when you think about it.

Arguably, 1000 X's and O's and Baltimore are better songs than Revelation. But that's the thing with Prince, there's like 10 musical personalities in there. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If I had to pick just one, it would be HARDROCKLOVER. Top three would probably be HARDROCKLOVER, Welcome 2 America and ROCKNROLL LOVEAFFAIR (or the entire PHASE 2 album in general. He really did save his best until last). Honourable mention to Another Love because that solo... man, it takes you to another dimension [Edited 5/21/21 17:02pm] eye dont think U heard me . . .

Good so many people are picking Revelation. Quite a unique song in the Prince canon of ballads. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

Phase3 said: Not counting posthumous songs, which 1 song is the best Prince released in the last 10 years.Albums from art official age, plectrum electrum, hitnrun phase 1 and 2,plus all the songs released as singles. For me,it is "Way Back Home". That song just does something to me and it is very chilling. Can remember the first time I heard it,my mind was blown away. The song is definitely in my top 10 by him maybe top 5 Why can't we count posthumous songs? "The last ten years" can only mean: 2011-2021 or the last ten years of his life, 2006-2016 and then we can include Dreamer and Colonized Mind. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

Rocknroll Loveaffair--always puts me in a good mood and encapsules more than a bit about Prince's life.

The last 10 years of his life? F.U.N.K easily. Towards the very end, i'd go with June or U KNOW. [Edited 5/25/21 9:47am]
