Little Red Corvette album version vs 12 inch version

Which mix of Little Red Covette you like better? for me 12 inch version all the way. every instruments is more clear and prominent in the mix and the extended funk outro with Prince yelling may day may day is killer.

he did play the outro part at least once on the 1999 tour.

I like the grittier quality of the album version but that extended portion is really classic Prince.

If there’s a 12 inch version of a song, THAT’S the song. Anything less is an edit.

On the 12", you can tell the latter half was added on to the album version. I bought this 12" when it was released - it was only the second officially released extended Prince remix (Let's Work 12" being the first). Both of those 12" mixes blew my mind back then. I still love them to this day. And I still own them. Gems in my Prince colleciton that I started 43 years ago

May day! prince

Enjoy the 12 inch too, sounds crisper, love when P gets wacky on his extended, "a piece of bubblegum is all you get" stuff

Vocal slightly different on the snippet version of Little Red Corvette, I am keen to hear what the full redo sounds like (assuming it exists)

3rd, as "Sexy dancer (long version)" from the UK 12" was the first wink

EDIT: Perhaps I misread because you said remix. I guess "sexy dancer" is just the full version.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Well, the album version of ''America'' is something completely different from the MAXI version.

Same goes for ''I Wish U Heaven'', "La La la, He He Hee", ''Scandalous'' and ''...Sex Suite'', etc.

I think both are always important - and they are no edits from a MAXI at all.

Yes good point. I know there are examples like that and was being a little hyperbolic.

Different drum pattern on the 12" smile , always thought the album version sounded a bit sluggish by comparison lol
