You thought it was somebody else, but it was Prince When I was a kid, my favourite movie with Jurassic Park, was with no contest the Batman of 1989. I went to see the movie in theaters when I was 3 years old, and still remember the screening to this day. I had the VHS the next Christmas, so I saw this movie a lot, until I was like 10 years old. I even tried the movie in black and white at the time, to not get bored! When I became really fan of Prince around 15 years old, I hadn't seen the movie for about 5 years, which was an eternity, and didn't care much about Batman anymore. Of course I knew already as a kid that Partyman amd Trust were from Prince, didn't remember the other songs. I saw a tv documentary about Prince, and they played a wonderful instrumental part of a song, I wasn't sure it was Prince or just an ambiance background. I knew that music for sure, like it was in my DNA, but couldn't remember from where I knew it. The music stuck to my head until months after, I decided to watch Batman again with adolescent eyes and Prince fanitude. Then at the end of the movie I recognized that wonderful song was in fact Scandalous! But I always thought that was only part of the Elfman's score. It s incredible since in the movie it lasts like 30 seconds only, but some parts of my brain printed it well. So I watched the ending credits, that I always skipped as a kid, and discovered it was an actual song from Prince. A true story. | |
