At 1m12sec one guy is playing Bambi the correct way https://www.youtube.com/w...SZzNl_0J3A
this is how it's supposed to be played not like a 2 grade high school band

Some of the responses to this cover are so silly and immature. Just be fucking glad someone is covering and honouring Prince like this.
This is a faithful and by the numbers cover of Bambi. Clearly these musicians are proficient enough to cover this song almost note for note including adding elements like the cowbell (less anoyingly than Prince did). The solo is also pretty close to the original. I would have to get out the original and listen to compare but why would I? This is pretty cool anyway.
You ever thought that these guys just wanted to cover a damn song and put it out there? Jesus.

I agree with Milty2. It's a cool tribute.

Sorry Milty but your response is very disrespectful.I will always like a good Prince cover like Chris Cornell Nothing Compares U 2. But i beg your pardon i have my right to say whatever i want and Bambi is my favourite rocker by Prince. these guys tried thir best to do indentical version but what they missed is essencial to the song.after the first power chord there is a ghost note that makes Bambi sound the way it is.it's iconic riff that u got to respect.Just like Highway To Hell or Whole Lotta Love. When i was a kid i used to play Bambi like the guys the wrong way, until my friend bass player told me no ,there is a ghost note between first and second power chord than i took a listen and heard it. But talk is cheap if you want to really understand or hear what i'm talking about listen at1minute12second into this video this guy is playing it the right way and you can hear and feel the spirit of Prince https://www.youtube.com/w...SZzNl_0J3A
see i put an effort in order for you to understand even though your response was the 1 thats silly and immature.

I'm a piano player and I went to Berklee College of Music. I know what I'm talking about. What I'm not going to do is nitpick or trash a really good effort by a band that at least took the time out to learn the song. A bunch of guys who probably just do this on the weekends or who, by the looks of it, can't even meet up to play but they banged out a really solid tribute.
I did say already in my post that they are "proficient enough to cover this song almost note for note". But you glossed over that. I mean, MonoNeon posted a version of Diamonds and Pearls a while back and it was so far from the original, it was almost unrecognizable yet everyone fell at his feet for it. If I was really ignorant as to how I hear and listen to music, I could also trash this cover if I wanted to but I'm not going to. It is a good version of Bambi. [Edited 5/2/21 12:05pm]

did you watch the video i posted.no the riff is not Bambi or if you want this is Bambi the way white guys would play devoided of funk. But Bambi have that nuance that makes it funky even though it's hard rock. and before this goes into potential racial thing because i used the term"white guys" i'm white also.if u cant hear the difference between the link i posted and your link han i dont know what to say. Bambi riff have synchopation it goes first power chord -pause, ghost note second and third power chord. these guys play it straight forward without synchopation and it looses it's magin in my opinion [Edited 5/3/21 7:15am]

It's so pissy around here that it's debilitating. Even Radiohead fans weren't this pissy when Prince turned Creep into something that was as far away from the original as he could get.

Let the Prince tribute players roll! > I would much rather hear some kind of version of Prince tune broadcast than somebody pissing-on about how Prince changed his name 2a symbol and how he had the damn nerve to sue some extra-emotionally-entitled fans.

This post actually reminds me of how insane it used to be on the Org by the early 2000s. (Since Prince has passed away I check-in to the Org probably only about 10% as much as I used to.)

The Org of the early 2000s also had it's moments (hence the Mods being instated and the rules about bootlegs, etc) but it's very much a shadow of its former self now.

By your standards Prince played it wrong live every time. I've never heard a version of Babmi live by Prince that sounded good.

Let's see, TrivialPursuit is saying it's a cheap copy and that there's nothing original or new about their "take" on it whilst thebanishedone somehow agrees yet feels the problem is that it isn't exactly like the original. This fucking website makes my head spin sometimes.

The Undertaker version really is a feast to the ears. I don't know if it should be considered the definitive version, but it ranks pretty high. You know, when I first saw The Undertaker, I was 50/50 on it. Back then, it was too stripped down for me, in parts. Plus, he still sang it in falsetto. I've long since learned to appreciate the sheer exuberance of it. I still would've liked to have heard Tommy or Morris in there on some keys, just to fill in a bit. But then again... not as stripped down. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I wasn't even going to listen to it but after all the discussion I gave it a spin. Seemed ok to me. Is it note for note? No. But when did a cover of a song ever have to be a note for note copy? It's certainly better than some other Prince covers I've heard. RIP
