Here's an interesting thing. EWF may have returned the favor in a way...On their "comeback" hit "System Of Survival" from 1987's "Touch The World", there's a lyric on the 2nd verse that says "I'm waiting for somebody new to lead The Revolution". The song was released in September (no pun intended, haha). But was recorded earlier that year.
Checking the credits, it's written and produced by a never to be heard from again person named Skylark...I've long suspected that it's just David Foster under an alias, since he was in a band called Skylark in the early 70s, most famous for the song "Wildflower" which was also a hit for the R&B/Funk band New Birth. But the copyright is under Maurice White Music, so he most likely co-wrote the song. Anyway, the timing seems to be right. Prince & The Revolution had just broke up , so I'm sure everybody heard the news around that time. Just a thought... Oh yeah, on that same song, Maurice says "Let's Work!" several times. - If Prince had vinyl records, where the hell are they now ? - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972) | |
