I preordered the deluxe edition and when I preordered the Japanse CD/BluRay combo I almost cancelled my preorder for the Deluxe set but didn't because I like all those extra little useless nonsens in it lol

Sounds like you want the deluxe set. If you really want it go for it.

It's not that I can't afford it. I just dont feel like paying extra to get the video

That equals $38.97
This means you must pay $61.02 if you want the Bluray.
Sure the deluxe set comes with a book, poster, etc. But I dont need or want any of that extra stuff, it will collect dust.

They could have easily package a cd & bluray.
Hell throw it in a cheap cardboard package and I'll pay $40/50 if you twist my arm lol

On 1 hand I feel like they are trying to milk some extra money (no one is forcing us to buy)
On the other hand it's like collector's item. (I dont buy prince items in hope's it will be worth money)

You could start a poll thread and ask.

I honestly don't get why someone would shell out that much extra money just to get a Blu Ray that will eventually be available to watch regardless. There's so much cool live Prince stuff out there now that I fail to feel the sens of urgency to own this ONE particular show, especially for such a hits heavy set list, but you guys do you.

I was happy with the 1999 and SoTT SDE's, Originals, and P&M was a nice little side dish but fuck me if I'm shilling out that much cash for a single new album and one concert DVD. If it was an aftershow collection I might bite. WE'll all see the live set eventually anyway.

Being a hardcore fan shouldn't require a person to buy things they don't want and can't use. If we all send a message that we're happy to pay premium prices for silly trinkets, then that's how it will be from now on.

"Die" is already circulating as "Livin 2 Die".It is a techno type song
"Born 2 Die" was previewed on the recent 60 minutes show.They are 2 different songs

"Livin' 2 Die" (also known as "Our Lives" on some bootlegs) was originally written by Sandra St. Victor and re-arranged with new melody by Prince.
It's a different song, which means "Born 2 Die" may very well be from '94/'95 as well.

As stated by multiple others, the problem is some of us wish there was a mid-tier option: a CD/Blu-Ray set and a LP/Blu-Ray set. It's really killing me but I will opt for the standard CD. I respect the CD/LP/Blu-Ray/Book deluxe package option for completists but not at the expense of a mid-tier option. I really hope this is really taken into consideration for future deluxe and super deluxe releases.

I get it. It’s just a very Americacentric thing to be upset about. You’ll all order it online anyway. I’ve had to order albums to NZ from America because they weren’t released here. I didn’t pretend it didn’t exist if I couldn’t get it locally.
