Npgmc card cd rom Moving house I came across the membership card cd rom from 2004(?). At the time could buy an npgmc membership for a reduced fee of $25 I think it was and that was sent out to you. I purchased one for a sibling as the price was lower now and I suppose as happens in life it made its way into my stuff.
Did anyone else round here ever receive one? If not, it was like a credit card with a hole in the middle. I've packed it up now but if anyone is interested in seeing it drop me a message and I'll send you a photo when I unpack! (not selling, this isn't an ad) I think looking back now it was so innovative. Its such a nice keepsake of better days! [Edited 3/18/21 3:00am]

So it was green the size of a credit card and has a side profile prince circa 2003/4 a musicology shot on the front, before that as I recall it was 100$ over at the npg music club to join and I think you even had to renew (?? It's so long ago now, someone correct me if I'm misremembering) and this stuck out as it was $25 for a lifetime membership. I know I wasnt expecting the little thing to come in the post. When I unpack ill post a pic here if it's not against any rules and a video of the content. Most people here like me I think would be pre musicology fans so not have seen it, or perhaps newer fans since his passing so I thought it would be interesting to mention as you'd only see it if you joined up in that specific window of time. I'll unpack in a few weeks and post for sure.

The first 2 years of NPGMC were $99, but then it went down to $25 yearly for everyone. I imagine that's what you have there.

Mod - If this still runs when I unpack is it against the rules to post a video of it running?
I have no recollection of how it worked I'm not sure if it just hooked you up to the npgmc site but I think it worked offline. As I said it was for a sibling so i don't think I paid too much attention. Yes re the packaging I think it looked like a pre iTunes giftcard but Im not sure if this arrived pre musicology which to me was a real surprise hit. If it was after I can see he may have thought about putting in shops but if it wasn't and it was before, well, we weren't swelling in numbers as a fan base were we? Gosh it was only 2003/4 and i feel so very nostalgic. Why did you have to leave us prince? [Edited 3/20/21 17:56pm]

Were these available to purchase at the venues for the Musicology tour? I don't remember seeing them at the two Seattle shows that I went to. I'm sure that their would have been a huge upswing in membership if they were sold during the tour at the shows.

Three reasons:
1. Toxic masculinity manifesting as the inability to express vulnerability/need for help while feeling compelled to appear perfect at all times.
2. His religion making him fear his "soul" was in his blood thereby casuing him to refuse medical procedures he needed to address his chronic pain.
3. The use of illicit drugs as a substitute for routine medical procedures that his religion caused him to avoid.

I had no idea that was the reasoning behind 2 So with that thinking those good kind people that give blood to save lives are giving away their soul?? I just cant get on with that line of thought.

Dude is talking BS.
Prince had a scar on his left hip from surgery and there are documented cases of bloodless full hip replacements. His religious beliefs did nothing to stop Prince from doing what he wanted to do. Which turned out to be taking pills and making music.

When the membership went from $100/year to $25/lifetime, I was sad in the knowledge that those days of getting a ton of exclusive content were over.

They still owe me for a download. I was on there for only a bout a month when he shut it down. Those members were terible.
