All he did was give the usual stock superficial answers. And ecverybody asked his opinions on things that he would not know of anyways as if he had some magic key to Prince.

Nothing's ever an "everyday stituation" when it comes to Prince, if you think about it

Yeah but DMSR had a better vibe surrounding it than Possesed does. When you read about DMSR you thought "Websters-Encyclopedia and prime era Rolling Stone". With Posessed you think National Enquirer or People magazine.

True, man I wish D.M.S.R. went farther than 1988.
What I realy like about that book is how it gives limited detail about Prince's affairs and focuses more on the music. Also how it doesn't glorify Wendy & Lisa. It's a very well researched book. That's the type of book 1989-now needs

Yea smile I've been hearing such bad things about the book, I at least expected someone to jam him up about facts & put him in a corner. Sounds like the chat was a breeze for Hahn, which it shouldn't have been sigh

Essence

I didn't really the think the book was that bad, enjoyable to read an opinion on Prince regardless, it's been a while since the last book on him came out.

That said it was just opinion so presenting a second half called "The Fall" is just according to Alex Hahn rather than the fact he presented it as.

Also typos and factual errors aside it was annoying all the rumour alluded to without source or evidence. Since when were Kristin Scott Thomas, Sinead O'Connor & Cat P's romantic interests? The book is very sensationalistic, often skipping over musical information to get to the next bit of juicy gossip...

I do not think Hahn is a fan of the music. If he really was a music fan he would have attempted to write a book more focused on music and not gossip.

If I were writing the book and had the chance to speak to all of the people that worked with Prince I would have driven them crazy with music questions.

Right. He'd be perfect to work for one of those supper market tabloids, since he's seems to be more intereted in Prince's sex life more than anything else.

He didn't care less about music, he just used it to bridge gaps before the next salacious piece of gossip. The book had me laughing if nothing else. biggrin
