Chewing Gum by Elvis Costello from the album Spike. I could really see Prince writing this when he first formed the Hornheadz. Like a b-side from the D&P Era.

I'm honestly shocked he never coved Sade live. I'm sure that would be beautiful. I wish he covered more P-funk during his lifetime, especially with the SOTT/LS band.

i think some are confusing others trying to convey a "Prince sound" rather than Prince actually covering someone else in a "Princely" fasion. OR the op is literally searching for others who have tried the "PRNSound". ANYHOO... .
i LOVED that he did "Whole Lotta Love" live and wondered what his rendition of "Fool In the Rain" would have sounded like. The effects that Jimmy Page used for that solo is something i think Prince tried a few times like on "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic". "Whatever skin we're in

what about you? Why would Prince need to sing songs that are purely derivative of his own work

didn't i just say that? is this thing on??? "Whatever skin we're in

I'm watching The Jets "Crush On You." This is a good Prince song. Big synths, funky riffs, hooky throughout. Sounds like somethine he may have written for someone else, too. [Edited 2/24/21 0:11am] Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

- exactly that. - ''Everything In It's Right Place'' by Radiohead. Yep. I'm sure he would've done a great version of that, with a snearing guitr solo. - ''Sunrise'' by Norah Jones. ''Fun For Me'' and ''Day For Night'', both songs by Moloko. ''Indian'' by Eg abd Alice. ''Georgie Porgy'' by Toto. ''Life's What You Make It'' by Talk Talk. ''Je The Lion'' & ''Fame'' & ''Absolute Beginners'' by David Bowie. ''I Feel Love'' by Donna Summer. ''Louise'' by The Human League. and so much more -

I recall listening to a rehearsal/jam session where Prince starts singing the chorus to Sade’s ‘Is it a Crime’, working it into another song of his. He only sings the ‘Is it a Criiiime’ part a few times and kind of under his breath but it sounds cool.

He liked "Miss You" but I thought "Emotional Rescue" was the Stones song that Prince would slay live.

Anything from 1926. The year modern music was born. You can hear the funk right there. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...
