SOTT SDE duplicate/missing discs?

Bit late to the party with this, but having just opened my SOTT Super Deluxe CD boxset I find.....two CD4s and no CD5.

Dissapointed doesn't even begin to describe it to be honest. Given the price and the fact getting this in the first place (as a present- my finances wouldn't allow for it) was a big deal, it's a real let down.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? How did you rectify it? I know scratching/scuffing of the discs was an issues, and fristratingly, all the discs look fine in the set.....they're just not the right discs!

'Returning it to seller for a refund' isn't possible as it was a gift.....

Apologies if topics like this are elsewhere - I did look but couldn't find anything.

To be honest, I have no idea if mine is correct or not, I haven't taken the CDs out of the book. I'm sure if it was widespread then we would have heard more about it here.

Can' you get whoever gifted it to get in touch with the retailer, I doubt you will have any problem getting an exchange.

A search online has turned up a few people saying they had the same problem (most seemed to be just missing discs though rather than having duplicates), but all just seemed along the lines of "sent it straight back to Amazon".

Sadly, that's not really a possibility at present. It seems such a strange thing to have happened- you'd think they'd be at least checked prior to being sealed and sent out.

I've messaged Warner offering to send the disc/photos of the duplicate, but don't expect any response. If I end up with a box missing one of the best discs in the set though then it will certainly put me off giving them any money in future!

The estate doesn't do customer service tickets from prince.org. You're better off calling customer service, and letting them know what happened. Email or call, get it done. They have to do something for you. It's such an egregious error.

I cant offer any help. But I recall reading that this happened to someone here on the org.
They got an duplicate disc.

I've had this issue; two copies of disc 8 and no Disc 7 confused

Been emailing WMG here https://store.warnermusic.com/contacts but not having much luck. Perhaps if everyone tries they'll see it's a broader issue?

This. Just ask the person who gave it to you to contact whomever. I know if I was the giver of that present, I would want to make it right for the recipient. It would not make the recipient seem "ungrateful".

Short of that, keep contacting WB support to see about a replacement disc.
