I'm working on a quilt and I have this piece of fabric that is a bold design. I looked at it, and though, "Hmm, seems like Prince was wearing these colors once." I know I've seen the pic - at least I think I know.

It's a pic of him in a blouse that is white, black, and purple. He's close to the camera, too. it almost looks distorted (fish eye). There may or may not be another shot from the same session of him and Rhonda or some other band member.

I feel like the blouse was striped or somehow patterned. It maybe when he just started to grow his 'fro out, so it'd be 2004 or after. I've google imaged every idea I had, and nothing.

Does this pic sound familiar?

This fabric is spot on with the colors.

Not really sure, but I think the original pic comes from the Hawaii tour book from 2003. I did a quick search on Google and couldn't find the specific pic, but perhaps you can try instagram or other sites...

it just looked like a fro,

YAAAS! That close up shot w/ the band. So good. Here's a swatch of the fabric I used in an ongoing quilt project. You can see why it tweaked my brain. It's much more purple-y in person; less hot pink in my sample.
